Stevens said in his press conference that Lakers were actually trying to foul Rhondo but they got picked off which explains why he was open.
It doesn't matter.

    We all saw the game.

That means you also saw how Kendall Marshall was ALWAYS going under the screen every time Rondo was in a pick and roll.

If Rondo was a shooter, Marshall would not go under the screen.

The other time Rondo had a chance to give the Celts the lead, with the score at 105-104 Lakers, Rondo missed an open jumper.

Again, Stevens' system will fail if you don't make open outside shots.
Translation - change is coming!
Why did they make him captain if they are going to trade him?  The press conference sounds like it was a decision from the higher up.

Maybe because he will bring the Cs a bounty in trade assets?

Would you pay Rondo max $ after next season? You know he is going to ask for max $ OR test free agency!

Its that simple - trade the asset before you lose it for nothing in return!

Question - I think I know the answer:

Was Kelly around when we picked in the second round?  Or did we take Iverson after him?

    (I know, that's two questions...)

If so, then we fell asleep on that one...that kid is a fundamentally sound Blue Devil, and I'd like to have him!
Kelly was picked before Iverson.

    Thanks, that what I thought!

El Dunker and I want Rondo and Bass for Lin and Asik.  I don't need another pick, though.  I'll take Montejunas.........he was a first rounder already!

Gear up for the Hayward sweepstakes, folks!

Good point.  No he is not a max $ player.  I am not objecting to trading him but I am a little surprised by the fanfare they are staging.  I guess they need something to highlight when there is not much to showcase this year.

4 for 9 for Rondo from the field... showing zero range... all made baskets were point blank.

And he missed a 14  an 18, a 19 and a possible buzzer beater 25 footer... all uncontested... all drawing iron each time.

At crunch time, the "captain" must sit.

1st. game back for Rondo and you can see that he is only 60% ready.  Perfect tanking plan.  Losses will mount while the new rotations settle in.  Once Bass goes, there will be another adjustment cycle.

It will be interesting to see how Rondo looks playing with a whole new bunch of dudes. I actually don't care if they win or not though.  The last thing I want is the Lakers getting  a higher pick than the Celtics.

Rondo right back to his MO.  The worst deep shooter on the team and once again he holds it for a desparate 3 and bricks it.  Same ol same ol.

The Rondo and Bass for Asik, Lin and a 1st rounder rumor smells pretty good.
Nope. AB is the worst deep shooter on the team. With 27 seconds left A Brickley missed an open $hot. You can spin it anyway you want but Rondo isn't the reason they lost tonight. A Brickley should not be the Celtics go to scorer. A lot of times he is. A Brickley is a $hut down defender. Nothing more.
