Observations on the 2012 based on the Open Scrimmage this Past Friday n Preaseason Game #1

They may surprise the fans. Barring the 'Greek Tragedy' that is the Jeff Green story!!! I swear every 10 years some  to deal with (Bias, Lewis, Perk in Finals, Shaq, Green). However I attended the open scrimage this past friday n here's what i honestly thought outside of the big 4...

Avery Bradley - Looks lost. no surprise no excuses. But they can still bring him in defensive press situations. But Dooling n Moore have him beat at the backup 1 and 2 guard spots.

Keyon Dooling - Keyon is a way superior point guard (ballhandling, creating offense for others) and shooting guard (shooting creating his offense for himself) than Delonte West #Upgrade. The offense doesn't immediately shutdown wen Rondo leaves the game.

E'twaun Moore - handles the ball really well. creates his own shot off the dribble really well. But not the top notch athlete as we r used to seeing in the league at the two guard. His game remind me of an arenas/wade without wades athleticism. Doc doesn't like to play rookies but this kid might force his hand depending on what DA does with the roster opening created by the Green situation.

Brandon Bass - This might sound crazy but...BRANDON BASS SHOOTS THE BALL BETTER THAN BIG BABY!!! (Career Avg 85% FT 50% FG) He's a steal for baby/wafer. He's sOO explosive he blocks shots he rebound a play above the rim. Baby clearly below the rim, He def screwed-up a few offensive plays and defense but that really look like he was in the wrong position due do him being so new to the system.

Chris Wilcox - Is a surprisingly a 'GREAT rebounder' he's def not 7ft or anything but its like Doc says "U gotta get big men that can actually play rather than just grab" any stiff. He's a very good jump shooter from 18ft and has remarkable touch around the hoop as he does not have to dunk everything. He is MORE ATHLETIC THAN A HEALTHY LEON POWE!! He made a few offensive putback dunks against the Celts bigs that I cant remember the last time we had a seen there around these parts. He's (6'9") like Perkins (6'10") with Talent :/ O and he's as TOUGH AS NAILS. #ENFORCER. HE like Bass did mess up some Team Defensive stuff.

Jajuan Johnson - Doc is def gonna give this kid the rookie treatment no matter what he does. Despite his being so slight he is actually very aggressive going for the boards and using his quickness to block shots he definitely looks to contest shots in his vicinity. He has good move down low but wont really get a chance to show it in this league at this point because he cant hold his lowpost position. He will make the 18ftr virtually everytime but he is sometime tenative in taking it wen open. His shot reminds me of Tony Battie vs Garnnet as his release is slow and deliberate but money non the less and high arcing n hard to bother.

Overall he's cat quick and really skilled for such an athlete.

Jermaine Oneal - If JO can give the Celts 20 mins a game we are gonna better off on defense and offensive then the pass 1n a half years. He's is rebounding blocking everything and so far u are gonna have to double on him in the post. He's abusing all down low. Dont see this changing unless your name is Dwight, Tyson, Bynum, or Deandre. 20 mins per game can increase his chances of staying healthy.

Marquis Daniels - Is playing with great confidence. On days wen paul needs the night off we dont have to worry much about him. He's not going to being a great shooter but their going to give him the ball a lot and he's seems to always get his shot off n to the FT consistently. He moves great off the ball.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_xHl2Y9WE4

Greg Steimsma - Really takes up space and wen the opponents has no other place to go he just blocks everything in his direction. He led the D-league last year in blocks he wont get big minutes but he will get "Scott Pollard" minutes. Wont force the shot but will make the open shot. He's active on the offensive boards as well and bangs.

-All of our bigs (6 total) are long and athletic not just tall. They all can shoot and finish well under the basket (Unlike Kendrick/Baby). Couldnt really say that last year 2 yrs.

-Our team is more then ever a great TEAM defensive team. NOT really a group of shot blockers even though they will get theirs but every man including ray forces bad shots n limits one bad shot!!

-Prediction: They will be a top 10 OFFENSIVE and DEFENSIVE REBOUNDing TEAM in the NBA this YEAR! Which was a weakness the past 3 seasons.

-Prediction: Top 15 in FT Attempts

-Prediction: Their Offensive production will stay about the same but they will have more weapons than last year for the playoffs.

-Rondo will be the Worst Shooter on there entire team, and will get outclassed (once again) by Derrick Rose and guys like Kyle Irving but he will show up well against guys like Chris Paul

The 2012 C's roster wont wow you with names but you'll proud of the overall production. Let's be honest, how fans knew who James Posey, Leon Powe, or Eddie house were before 07? We look tougher than the average team now. We were too finesse the last couple of seasons. Hey i wasnt excited about the 2001 Patriot roster either. Here's to us diehards Not the 2007 bandwagoners

    PU,
I love your enthusiasm.  We were playing the Raptors.  Let's see what happens against the Knicks and the Heat this week.

I thought Rondo looked unspectacular but it was the Raptors in a pre-game.
