If you really want to mess NY up just get Carmelo healthy and back on the floor.

    Da Celtics,

The guy is going play there for the rest of the season.  Let's see if he keeps it up. You can't be serious.

    Well, why not?
We want to get younger, right? I agree he needs to keep it up but if you can score 38 against LA you're there to stay, imo.

Rondo and Lin in the backcourt would be better than Thomas/Dumars of the Pistons dynasty.

It's been reported that he will be a restricted FA. How is that possible though? Was he signed to a vet minimum?

So the Knicks could be like go sign with the Celtics and the C's will stuck with a max contract for a guy who has done it for about a week.

[QUOTE]Here's the answer ... The Gilbert Arenas Rule http://offthedribble.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/02/11/knicks-in-a-position-to-keep-lin/ So NY s/b able to offer more than any other team.

Not agreeing with this, but if any team deserves the shaft, it's the Knicks.  Many of you may not remember, but the Knicks at one time gave a HUGE offer sheet to our own Kevin McHale....and he almost took it.  Red stepped in, as he usually did, and signed THREE Knicks to offer sheets.  One was Marvin Webster, and I forget the other two (one was a guard).  Clearly, the Knicks could not afford to lose all three players, so they withdrew the offer sheet to McHale.

Red also recounted an incident (I'd have to look it up) in which the Knicks asked the league for a "favor" (something about draft picks?).  They wanted a special deal to help them.  Red stood up and said, "No way, they wouldn't help anyone else."  The league said okay, helped out the Knicks, then, sure enough, a few years later another team asked the league for the same favor.  Guess who was the most vehement opponent of it?  You got it, the New York Knicks!!
So, IF a chance ever came to stick it to them, I say YES, but this is not the time!!
