Fierce, I can agree that they need to rebuild chemistry. I can agree that they need to learn to play together and that will reduce turnovers.
But, Jason Terry was used to getting wide open jumpers and he's getting that here. Lee is also getting wide open, in rhythm jumpers. They are just not knocking them down. I don't worry about that for one game. But, they have done is most of the 3.5 games played so far. Only the first half of the first game did Lee shoot well.
There's no excuse for that. Sorry - you're too sympathetic with them.
Shane Battier was only shooting 34% from 3pt land in the regular season last season. But in the playoffs and Finals, he was shooting lights out. He went from 34% to 38%.
We all know Lee and Terry are very good shooters. Eventually their shots will start falling.
34 to 38 isn't a monster % jump, you'd have thought Battier went from 25 to 50 based on how mediocre he looked reg season and how deadly he later became... but any #'s in that range from Terry/Lee would be appreciated right now.
I don't worry about Lee, he is young and learning a new system and maybe trying too hard or just jittery, who knows. He is a career 44/39 guy... he will get to that eventually.
Gotta be a little more worred about Terry b/c he talked so much during the summer and is the type of battle tested vet who should be immune to this type of stuff and just hit the ground running (like Ray did) but he has not, and he is 35.
