In Response to Re: Orlando is watching Bynum very carefully right now. : KG and Ray Allen for DH and Arenas works. The Celts add two 1st round picks and the Magic would have dumped 60m on the Celts. But like I said, the Magic don't care about the money.

All teams care about money.
Orlando amnestied Arenas to save $62.4m in luxury tax.
There is no way Boston would have paid $128m for Arenas (salary+luxury tax) just to get back Howard.

Howard is making almost $18m.
Brook Lopez is making $3m.
Who else would go to Orlando to make the salaries match up?
HA HA HA - that is funny!!  ATL already offered Horford and Joe Johnson - the ante has been upped!!!

JJ and Horford are NOT upping the ante in anyone's definition. Except you're own of course lmao.
In Response to Re: Orlando is watching Bynum very carefully right now. : The Nets traded for Okur(10.9m) then signed Humphries for 8m. That's 19m right there. So why did the Nets spend 19m on Okur and Humphries? Maybe they already know Orlando was NOT going to trade DH, right?
Posted by Fiercest34
NJ signed Humphries because he is a very good player.
The only reason NJ traded for Okur is because Lopez broke his foot and they needed a big man.
Utah was happy to dump his salary.
NJ is grasping for straws. They have been turned down by every major free agent over the last two years. Even the B free agents like Chandler and Nene turned them down.
If they don't get Dwight, why would Deron stay there?
Red, why would Howard be asked to take less then maximum money if traded anywhere? Yes, there is more incentive to get traded by 3/15 and sign for the max or sign for the max through a sign and trade at the end of the season. We already went through Joe Johnson's horrendous contract. I can't see him going there. Is a package based around an injured Steph Curry better then a package built around Bynum? Curry won't be traded before his ankle problem is resolved. He might be out for a while to get this ankle problem resolved. Even if Lopez didn't break his foot, that NJ package doesn't seem to be real attractive to Orlando. Ultimately, I think Howard will go to LA for Bynum, 2 first round picks and maybe Ebanks. LA might have to use part of their trade exception from Dallas to take back Chris Duhon.

I was responding to someone else - greeneater mentioned MIA and how they all took pay cuts to play together.  Implying DH would do that, I just said he wouldn't!!  Please, either follow the whole thread or mind your own business!!

Two starters over one starter with bad knees whose contract expires in  a year IS an upgrade in anyone's mind, except a lakers fan of course, lmao!!

Chandler and Nene are "B" free agents, guys.....are we all aware of that.  The authority of mtrax, a non-lakers fan (still don't believe it) has deemed them such.  So, Chandler and Nene.................either one of whom could get us to the ECF, are "B" free agents....every one got it?   Great!!
The Magic are currently 3rd in the east right now. Why would they trade DH in the middle of a playoff run?  If the Magic are out of the playoff picture by the trade deadline then maybe the Magic would explore trading DH again. But right now, get this through your head, anthrax, DH is not going to be traded at least until the trade deadline.

I don't think Howard will be traded until March but I do think he will be traded.
