[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Pass First vs. Shoot First; Rondo vs. Westbrook : again, you keep saying hes a bad shooter. this year he is NOT a bad shooter. fg%, matter of fact, check his JUMPSHOT percentage since u think he is so bad.

As a matter of fact Rondo's fg% already dropped below 50% after the OKC game. Rondo is not yet an elite pg. He became an all-star because of the Big 3. When the Big 3 don't play well Rondo is not as effective. In the NBA you have be more than just a passer if you want to be part of the elite.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Pass First vs. Shoot First; Rondo vs. Westbrook : The problem with that is we'll never know the answer to that. Unless Rondo and Westbrook are traded for each other. But right now the Thunder are #1 in the NBA. Hard to argue with success. And even if the Thunder don't make it to the Finals this year, Durant is just 23 years old.

I believe that they have a good chance of making it to the finals this year.  Although, they are still a very young team and will have many more opportunities to play in the NBA finals.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Pass First vs. Shoot First; Rondo vs. Westbrook : Rondo only makes 1 or 2 jump shots a game. His other shots come from lay-ups.  Rondo's FG% has been going down since the January 1 game against the Wiz. Rondo ran the team well in 2008 because he kept it simple, he didn't try to do all those fancy passes that would result in a turnover. Proof of this is Rondo only turned the ball over 1.91 times per game in 2008.  Check the stats if you want. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/rajon_rondo/career_stats.html Rondo's turnovers have risen since 2008. From 1.91 in 2008 to 2.6 in 2009, 3.04 in 2010, and 3.44 last year.

In 2008 Rondo was perfect for the team because the big 3 production was a lot higher. In other words, Rondo didn't have to score as much and could focus on what he does best, distributing.

[QUOTE]Rondo's problem is he's a bad shooter. Westbrook's problem is he doesn't like to pass. Now, can we honestly say that becoming a willing passer is more difficult to learn than becoming a good shooter?

You are right about Westbrook.  Many times during the playoffs he wouldn't pass to his teammates when he should have.  Wasn't he a shooting guard in college?

It is simple. Rondo is wide open in the fourth quarter and in other key parts of the game.  He gets fifteen to eighteen footers that are close to wide open.  He can't make them consistently.  The big three are helpless this year.
