    Player A: Lamarcus Aldridge

    Player B: Jared Sullinger

and if you don't understand this, this is their 66 - 69th games of their careers. Both sets were in the player's second season

Sullinger certainly knows his way in the low post.  He's got what sportscasters call a "powerful lower body"--i.e. he really knows how to use  that big caboose to clear space.  Reminds me of Adrian Dantley and Mark Aquirre.

Just hope his back troubles are a thing of the past.

I just don't think enough attention is being given to how well Jared is playing this season .. still as a rookie...

Right now he has more points per 36 than Millsap, Lee, Monroe, Bosh, Pekovic, Boozer, Morris, Jefferson, Randolph

and Total rebounds per game than Gortat, Pachulia, Randolph, Gibson, Horford, Millsap, West, Marion ..

In terms of players above him in these categories that are the same age or younger (21):

In Pts/36: Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving

In Reb/36: Valancunas, Davis, Adams, Biyombo, Drummond

Aldridge is number 8 in the NBA in PER.

    Sullinger is number 63.

    Interesting thread though for sure.

I understand that. There is no way I'd say Sullinger>Aldridge RIGHT NOW.

But, Aldridge has what? 7 years of NBA experience on Sully? That's why I was comparing their game stats from games at the same point in their careers.

    Kudos to you for that.

My question is, how much better a defender is Aldridge?

I'm not so sure how to adequately judge that. If you look at their advanced stats on basketball-reference.com you can compare Defensive Rating (pts allowed per 100) over their careers:

    Aldridge: 109, 107, 108, 107, 107, 106, 107, 102

    Sullinger: 102, 103

Another interesting stat, if you look at the career average win shares per 36, they are both at 1.4

The point of the thread was measuring Sully where he is now vs where Aldrdige was at the same point in his career.

    Dur.

Stats tell you only so much.  What I really like about Sullinger is that he has the look of someone who can not only score down low but also tattoo his opponent while doing it.

This is a pretty rare combo.
