Player involvement - Doc SportsCenter Interview

Q: What did you know about player involvement?

A: I was involved in the fact that I thought it would be a decent trade. I wanted to keep everybody. I told danny when we talked about it, can I keep DeAndre and kep the other guy. I cant even say his name I guess, I don't know, I shouldn't. But thats what I wanted if we could have done that. So that part I was involved in. But not to a great extent. I think it was more, again, Danny was asking me if I would do this. Would you be willing, is this OK?

So Doc was lobbying for what? Lee& Terry for Andre? Paul for DeAndre? The "Other Guy" has got to be KG, right?

Also at the very end of this interview he's recounting "pulling out" from the discussios on Sunday. He says he told Danny *lets go ahead with the rebuid*

I think that's pretty telling. Danny in already knee deep in rebuild mode and essentially that is what Doc would have had to come back to.

Docs blowing a whole lot of smoke trying to look like he  was involved in Celtic matters, ready to come back, ready to do whatever was best for DA and for the team..... all the while refusing to commit to the Cs and trying his best to jump ship if/when the opportunity arose.

A lot of classic weasle words to hide behind.

    Doc the weasle.

Just dont forget Wyc's comments about Doc.... and why he fled Boston..

That was the report I recall about Doc advising the CLips to not give up Bledsoe to the C's.....  while DOc was still HC of Boston..

And you say you don't hate Doc?

    HAHAHA

Fungus' all-time FAV Celtic coach has departed for  LaLa land... and he won't be getting over it anytime soon.

A good cry will help you feel so much better, my friend.

Remember.... your daddy doc still loves you, Fungus... and always will.

Agreed...Doc was playing spinmeister bigtime...you could tell just by looking at his face, his eyes...he's a terrible liar...

For $7mil/year, the Clips no doubt thought they were acquiring a much more convincing liar coach.

Docs sudden departure left his most ardent admirers at BDC in a real lurch.

They still defend him and lash out at others.....

    Stage one is denial, BTW.

After that, we have anger, bargaining, depression and then acceptance. The 5 stages of Grief.

    Good luck to ya, gurls.

    Stormy weather expected.

i'm just thankful that Doc is gone and we have another first round pick, like a cherry on the celebration cake.  I have never been a proponent of Doc and think he would have been a complete disaster working with young guys in a rebuild, and it sounds like Danny felt the same way.

Now if we can only trade Rondo, I'll be thrilled !!!  and the Celtics will be better in every respect.

And I'm the Doc Rivers fan here?

    What a bunch of hypocrites!

    You are not alone, Fungus.

Doc-haters are here to help you work thru your grief.

Embrace your pain.... and give it  voice.

Lash out if you must but don't run away from hurt.

    That's  part of healing.

    You go,  gurl.

Doc is making Ray Allen look good these past couple days.

At least Ray addressed the Boston media and explained himself right after his decision.

OMG you idiots stop. This isn't a hate or defend Doc thread.

I found evidence, a hint, at what may have been discussed behind closed doors between Danny and Doc. I'm trying to figure out who Doc meant by "keep both"

It sounds like Doc wanted to Pair KG and DeAndre (probably by trading PP).

WHO IS "THE OTHER GUY"???????? KG?

I'm a Celtic fan first and Doc Rivers fan second.

And since Doc is not a Celtic anymore, I'm not into the Doc Rivers bandwagon anymore.

That's your head talking, FUNGUS.... and oh so bravely I might say.

Your aim is too high. Doc-luv resides  in your heart, not your head.

Give THAT pain VOICE... and you will feel immediate relief.

Head and heart must be unified and speak as one.

    All is not lost.

Your special healing is on the way.

    I promise.

Doc brough a chapionship to Boston and for that i am thankful. I have no annemosity towards him since paying him 7 mil to coach a boarderline playoff team for the next three years just seems dumb. The fact that the C's got a first round pick out of it is just icing.
