I'm bringing this subject up because Mployee keeps saying the Celts will use the 10.3m TPE, on a player like Spencer Hawes, so that it will not go to waste.

    I don't agree.

Why waste money on a TPE when the contracts of Rondo, Bass, and Anthony will be off the books next summer.

That's 23.6m off the books next summer.

And the Celts don't really need a guy like Hawes if the Celts are rebuilding.

i like hawes but he is not a rim-protector...i'd take jordan hill with MLE or part of it....

I agree with raider - I want Bass gone, and I think he will be.  Also, my personal feelings aside, I think Rondo HAS to be traded now.............give the keys to Smart and let him drive!

Hahaha ... already flip-flopping or just appeasing the other posters huh?

You've been arguing that the C's need to stay under the cap and now you say that DA may try to offer Hill the MLE!!!!!

How can you have it both ways PAL?

Using the MLE automatically locks a team into staying over the cap ... you are such a PHONY!!!
i'm almost 100% ainge will use the MLE...

raider ... don't you know by now that the Fungus is a deceitful liar?!?!

I used Hawes as an example of how the TPE can be used ... I never insisted that the C's target Hawes ... PERIOD!!!

I also said that the TPE can be used to swallow a large expiring contract in return for additional future draft picks ... something that the Fungus whole-heartedly endorsed when Danny got Anthony for two future second round picks!

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain ... he's a phony!
i've been talking to fiercy for awhile..and he never feed me bull-crap ever.

That's why I said it depends on Ainge.

There are other ways to get Jordan Hill.

If Celts can trade Bass for a 2nd round pick then the Celts don't need to use the MLE on Jordan Hill.

Celts can outright offer Hill a bigger contract because the Celts can use the cap space vacated by Bass' salary.

The problem with you is you can't see the big picture.
i wish that could happen...or should i say...i hope that happens.

A lot of us here want Bass gone.

Getting a 2nd round pick for Bass is fair.

If Ainge can do that then the Celts don't need to use the MLE on Hill.

In fact, Ainge can offer more than the MLE if they can trade Bass for a 2nd rounder.
but you gotta trade bass to a team under the cap to get back only a 2nd round pick right?
