So say it loud say it proud.

Who was more responsible for Detroits championships?

Thomas and Dumars the two hall of famers? Or Laimbeer and Mahorn the "big men"

Remember it is best to say nothing and be thought of as a fool then to open ones mouth and remove all doubt.

Also the Bulls won A LOT of championships with mediocre big men.  Unless you think Longley and Wennington were more repsonsible for championships then Jordan and Pippin.

    Which you might.
Hey you forgot Dennis Rodman. I dont think they would have won on single championship without Rodman, best rebounder and defender...I am with Chris on this one. PG's dont win championships. It favors a good Forward or Center.
This isn't about what it "favors" and I didn't forget Rodman. Chris Did. Detroit won a championship because of all the pieces on its team. Including its pg. Chicago never had an elite big and they won a ton.

They aren't. Both Detroit and Chicago won numerous championships without dominant bigs.

That is my one and only point and it is inarguable.

If you look @ the past 30 years you will notice that in 2/3 of the titles a dominent PG was not the main impetus for that championship. If you go w/ the 25 year sample(eliminating the Magic years) the number drops to 1/4(IT & Parker).

The evidence supports this poster's central thesis.

I totally agree that a pg is not usually the main impetus.

My point was that holds true for any position.

Center, PF, SF, SG or PG.

What matters is an elite player. Not the position.

Jordan won a bunch of championships. Would one then say that "SGs win championships?"

Lebron is a SF. Would one look at him and say "SFs win championships?

I could go on but I think you get my point.

Don't look at Cousey or Walt Frazier, ignore that Tony Parker was one Ray Allen three from winning one last year, ignore the great Detroit teams. Point Guards don't win and as long as we exclude all the point guards that have won titles, they never have.

Were any of those guys you just mentioned on the Bulls? the bulls won without any good bigs.

I asked you the same things over and over but you wont answer. Because you don't know what to say. the Bulls and the Pistons won because of guards...not bigs.

Also did you really write Rick Mahorns name with all those other guys?

    Wake up.

Re: Point guards dn't win titles.

Individual players don't win championships - Teams do.  Teams have leaders and a PG can be the leader (Magic, Isaiah, Clyde, etc).   But, no matter how good the leader (even Bird, Magic, Russell, and Michael), the TEAM is required.   Ask Michael what is like without Scotty and Rodman.

We need a team so a discussion about a PG not winning a championship is moot.  The real discussion is when we will have a great TEAM, again.
