Posey is still under contract next season.

No need for Powe, we already have Harangody. The Celtics are not a charitable organization.

Neither!!!!!!!!!!!!! Posey is over the heel and Powe, doesnt get any playing time with a sorry Cavs team.  So what does that say?

POWE & POSEY AREN'T WALKING THROUGH THOSE DOORS AGAIN!!!!!

I miss Leon and the C's could use his hustle and rebounding but it may be that this last knee surgery was the one to knock him down a notch. I hope I'm wrong for Leon's sake as he's a good person. However he hasn't been the same since his comeback late last season.

you guys are wrong on leon. he was not only playing but STARTING and playing at a very high level again in cleveland until he hurt his thumb dunking in practice a week or so ago. he was in the rotation! just his toughness is key. one big issue is that he is shooting free throws a t a 43% rondo-like clip!

"he was not only playing but STARTING and playing at a very high level again in cleveland"  Yeah and it's really tough breaking into the mighty Cavs rotation! I heard he stole some minutes from Varejo.

The only problem I see is that with his 5 points and 2 rebounds a game, it's gonna be really tough to stop the Cavs from resigning him, so I think we're going to have to look elsewhere.

Maybe you can find another washed up ex-Celtic who might want to come back - preferably one with multiple knee surgeries...

The main reason why the Celtics will not sign another undersized PF, like Powe, is the Celtics already have one in Luke Harangody.

Is it April 1st?  Must be April Fools Day.

Why not sign Dave Cowens and Bill Walton?  Problem solved.  Cowens can drive the team bus, and Walton can be the Public Address Announcer.

Posey is a $7 million dollar bench player, Powe has more down time than any Celtic.

Cant see any use for either at this point unless its one of those situations where we need a body and theres nothing else around.

Powe has seen his best days... didnt know he was playing at a high level in Cleve...last I checked (some time ago) he was barely getting any minutes.

Posey was great for us in the title year.. these days hes not doing very much for Ind.. shooting 35% and getting older.

Both could play a role I suppose but you can say that about most NBA players. Dont see any reason to pursue either

Nuff said. Posey is too old and Powe is too damaged and both make far too much money for their contributions to a team.

both players are intreging. Powe knows the system and can be put at the 3 with kg and shaq at the 4 and 5. for shot periods of time.
Posey would be a great upgrade but very costly. Powe can be got for some cash and maybe a 2nd round pick.
Posey would be for perk,a first round pick, bradley and cash.
What this celtics team needs is wing insurance for pierce where posey would be nice . And a player who can play the 4 too. Like posey. but rudy fernandez would be a great player a wing player who can shoot and do little things. He can be had for erden and a second round pick and bradley.
The celts rotation is going to be different where come playoffs there going to rotate shaq,JOand Perk at the center with KG and Baby at the 4.

Why is it in most of these 'brilliant' trade proposals, the Celts are giving up cash, draft picks and young serviceable players for ONE used up, troubled, over the hill, or never will be player?

well, the guy who proposed including a first rounder for powe was classic. even powe's mom would chuckle at that not to mention powe himself. my point of the thread is what happens if baby goes down, there's where we are think and would have to consider some of these scenarios. i like luke only in small doses. kg even if healthy cant play beyond 30 minutes. what if there is an injury during the game at the position? celts have enough depth and flexibility from PG thru SF and at the center position. issue again is PF!

Re: POSEY OR POWE: WHO WOULD YOU MOST WANT BACK?

if one of the bigs go down for the season, you can find other scrap heaps to visit besides poweville and poseyland. You can find a similar one dimensional big off the free agent market who will be just as useless as these 2 are currently at this stage of their careers.
Additionally, i'm also sick of all the antoine walker rants too. Even in his prime/"all-star" (lol) years he was an unmotivated, volume shooting (from anywhere within 30 feet), non-defending slug of a power forward who put himself first, and the team second, and never worked to improve his rebounding, nor his fg/ft shooting. He was a beast his rookie year when he worked hard and stayed more in the box than on the 3 pt line, but he never realized that was what made him hard to match up against. He then ate himself out of the league and blew all his money, and we're supposed to feel sorry for him? Yet every year, we get people calling for his return, which was 2x too many to begin with..
