Celtics trade Bass and Terry with the second round pick or Fab for Thunder's Martin, Minor and the draft pick obtained from the Raptors.
Rationale: -Compatible salaries.
- it will benefit both teams:
Celtics will get rid of Bass and Terry's contracts then we will
get the pick of the Thunder obtained from the Raptors and also can use Martin for
shooting guard or small forward to solve our scoring woes or else deal him, Minor and
Fab to the Suns for Gortat and the draft pick obtain from the Lakers.
Thunder will add depth in the forward (Bass) and guard (Terry) positions specially
during their playoff run with veterans who have been battle tested. Besides Martin
will be a free agent comes summer time so it's better to gain something from him than
nothing.
Celtics trade Pierce to the Memphis for Gay.
Rationale: -Salaries are somehow complicated unless another team is involve.
-beneficial to both teams:
Celtics will upgrade its small forward position for playoff push and in the long run,
aside from Pierce contract, also for financial flexibility in case Gay will opt out next
year and instead get an impact free agent.
Memphis will boost their playoff run with a veteran who have a championship
experience and a capacity to carry a team, aside from the off the book salary
reward. It's better to gain something from Gay than loss him for nothing.
