That's got to be a joke!  Add Al Jefferson and first round draft picks for the next 20 years and Danny should consider trading the franchise player for scrap, although not very seriously.

Your boy Melo(remember Your centerpeice in a Gortat deal) is a project. Kantor was a #3 pick and will prove to be better than Melo & Sully combined. Also you were laughing at posters' for bringing up Rondo in a trade. Remember you wanted to trade Rondo for Gasol last year. You must have been looking in a mirror. You flip more than Romney ever did and you flop more than Barea. Reneg on any bets lately?

ADD but nice try. Kantor is the real jewell in this deal- albeit in need of polishing. And yes I have watched him and have seen a monster in the making. But glimpses of him don't do him justice as far as his production per min. Plus you all seem to have forgotten Milsap's explostion against the Heat 45 points(think Bass or PP can pull that off these days) Rondo's performance in the playoffs changed your mind? You mean the one where he lost his cool & got kicked out. Or the miscue of not getting a good shot off w/ against the Heat to win. Or the missed foul shots. Or the...

Tombo - that is all you remember about RR in the playoffs! If you don't mind, I would like to add a few additional meaningful memories (link below):

We need rebounds.  Remeber Barkley? The worm? It doesn't matter if a guy is a guy is 6'6" or 6'10" if they can REBOUND.  Milsap is a proficient 8.2 per game rebounder and much better scorer than Bass.

But my key target is a Big and I would take a chance that 7'0" Kanter, at 20, can be a productive big man in another year or two. In that time we can find a replacement for king Rondo.

If that' so then you are tanking the next 2-3 seasons???

Rondo is our only superstar , you build the team around him , you don't give him away for potential.

    Fierce,

You said Gortat for Lee and Melo and a draft pick. Will this get it done? Or do we forget about it. Rondo is not popular today but by next week will be the face of the Celtics again.  The problem we have is the Celtics are a .500 team.  They did not grab a steal like Blatche and we are stuck with Jason Collins and Wilcox.  This problem is going to keep us a .500 team until we make a trade or we get a major injury.

What people here don't understand is that .500 team wins a game and loses a game and optimism continues until the record washes them out of contention.  We will be on this yo-yo all season.

It's not because it was not a good idea, we all know KG and Blatche don't like each other, right?

So it's very obvious that Ainge didn't pursue Blatche because of KG not liking Blatche.

    [/QUOTE]

I had forgotten that, but I think KG would have gotten over it.

    Re: Proposed Boston Utah Trade

Lazy Blatche is not the answer.  He's averaging 10 points and 5 rebounds.  Who thinks 5 rebounds is going to change this team?  He's got essentially the same numbers as Bass.   Trading one for the other does nothing for us.   We need a rebounding big man - power house inside scorer - not another guy who isn't a starter.   Bass is a good player, Blatche is a good player - but neither is a starter for a championship contender and neither changes the character of a team.

Gortat is closer to what we need.  Unfortunately for the C's, few teams are going to give up their good big men who rebound and score inside.   Its just a tough player to get.  We should not have given up ours or we should have picked up a bruiser over the summer.
