Rondo is a beast. We would certainly be in the 2 spot right now if we had Rondo&Sullinger the entire year.

Its going to be interesting what we do next year with our glut of guards:
Rondo, Bradley, Terry, Lee, Crawford, Williams

Rondo is a very good NBA player.  A star.   He can be told not to hold the ball too much.  And he can flat out give opposing defenses nightmares.   We kind of miss that.

He was told. Doc started to complain in public that some players were not playing the right way, and if it did not change, that they would not be here anymore. It took Paul Pierce's speech at half time during the Houston game to get Rondo to play defense.

It is not Rondo's talent that was in guestion. It was his goals. He has only been willing to win on his own terms during the regular season. His terms have been that he had to have the best stats to be the considered the best point guard in the game first, and winning came second. Since he controled the ball on offense the offense floundered. Since he refused to stay in front of his man on defense for steals and rebounds, many times his guard was the game's high scorer.

Will he change? Who knows? I doubt that he no longer wants to be considered the best. Only time will tell.

when have you EVER seen Rondo happy after a loss? How many times have u seen him put up 18,12 and 10, and be pissed off after the game bc they lost. And people try to praise him after the game and he ALWAYS shrugs it off, ALWAYS. Its ridiculous how people think he cares abt stats first and wins second..the guy has a deep passion and incredible competititiveness to him. Honestly, why do you think him and KG get along so well? Do you HONESTLY think KG would back and befriend a selfish, toxic player?

His caring about stats first and winning second is the only possible explanation for the way his game has evolved/devolved over 7+ seasons in the NBA.

Celtic Nation will feel the loss of Rondo come playoff time. The highly competitive nature of #9 on games that really matter allows him to shift gears to an elite player during Playoffs. I know it's disheartening to see his average play in the regular season, but let's not forget how a beast, offensively and defensively, this point guard of ours is on games that really matter.

He is our weapon against the Heat. He is our elite athlete that can match against the league 's best.

    ...must read post!

Rondo wants to win, but only on his own terms!

As Doc said on a radio interview before the accident, all NBA stars want to win the championship, but most are not willing to do what it takes to win. They are only willing to do it on their own terms. Taken with the evidence of his play on offense and defense, Docs threat to send players that are not playing right elsewhere, and Paul Pierces speech at half time of the Houston game, to stop an unnamed player from arguing with Doc about playing defense, Rondo's terms are revealed. Who else but Rondo would argue with Doc. Since Rondos guard was beating the Celtics almost single handedly, who else could it be but Rondo.

Rondo wants to win but only on his own terms! He has the talent, but his goals may not be compatable with the Celtics winning.

Front and center, stats from the 2011-12 season.

I see little/nothing through out related to this season or to the injury.

    A relevant tweet maybe.

Latest news: Healthy Rondo has Celtics looking dangerous. Yes indeed!

What we have on this board are some want-to-be psychologist who over analyze situations and stretch facts their way. It's amazing how folks say KG can work miracles with players they would like to come here who have questionable character, but I guess he can't straighten out Rondo.  Hmmmm it doesn't add up.

The bottom line is the team has had a lot of injuries and started slow, righted the ship, went into a slump and are limping into the playoffs and will be bounced in the first round.

DA is a liar because he kept PP, KG, and RA together too long and rebuilding will not be easy with the new CBA.  KG and PP should come off the bench and JG and JS should start.  We need a 6'11" or bigger banger down low.

He was also a terrific rebounder for a guard. Something that might serve us well going into the playoffs.

true. i just dont understand how people take players words and opinions and accept them, UNTIL it is about Rondo, then everyones lying. Everyones a liar. Danny Ainge is a liar. Doc's a liar. Jason Terry's a liar. KG's a liar. PP is a liar. Avery Bradley's a liar. Keyon Dooling is a liar. Kendrick Perkins is a liar. Shaq is a liar. M. Pietrus is a liar. And of course, Rondo himself is a liar.

the funny thing is, if these guys said the same thing about Jeff Green, everyone would flock and be all over it, talking about how great of a player and person he is, even tho HE TOO wears the empty expression on his face the majority of the time.
