    Ron Artest frustrated with celtics...

    Ron Artest's twitter:

    1. https://twitter.com/celticsalldaway/status/22112921528 Perkns played game six. Rasheed was the problem game 7. He almost beat us
    2. So Boston is going to championship right past Miami?
    3. Let's see if my defense is less effective this year. Come haters Count me out Super dis respectful
    4. Nobody made excuses when Boston came to sac town when I was there and they embarrassed us. Acting like they were hardcore.
    5. The lakers with Bynum in the playoffs healthy has not lost The same way whoever whatever hasn't Let's not mention the stats on lock down
    6. Doc got one million excuses.. Just come back this season a take what you want...
    7. What about Kobe played with a broke finger .... What about Ron artest defense When the Boston staff said Ron artest was too slow

I'm don't know what putting a grammatically correct sentence on twitter, no doubt, has to do with dribbling a basketball. I do know that if you listen to Rondo and Perkins speak, they also have the same problem that Artest has.

Yet athletes get the adulation from their fans and and are paid handsomely for their athletic abilities not their vocabulary or diction. I suspect George Bush put the "kabosh" on anything remotely resembling a coherent sentence and he's the former president of the U.S. When was the last time that NBA draftees were tested on their writing and verbal skills?

The issue is with Doc Rivers suggesting that the Lakers have never beaten the Celtics, which is an insult and a joke. And Artest correctly identified that its all part of the game--injuries. When the Pistons beat the Magic led Lakers and Earvin and Byron Scott both pulled hamstrings, no one even remembers or cares. When the Bulls one their first title and James Worthy was out with an injury, allowing Pippen to guard Magic Johnson, no one cares. And when Karl Malone went down in his last year in the league with the Lakers, and Rick Fox was also out, who remembers or cares?

Finally, when people twitter online, as well as with text messaging, grammar and spelling go to the toilet.

What Doc said was absolutely correct.  He may have come across as bitter (kind of like Kobe in 08) but nonetheless correct.  We lost our top low post defensive presence, and the Lakers took advantage of that fact and won.  Had the Lakers lost Gasol in 08, instead of Bynum, you might have a valid argument but Bynum has never been that big of a factor due to better players on the team and his routine habit of missing tons of games.  Kobe was so bummed he did not play, that he shot that video ripping the kid.

That video was shot the year before, when he said he wanted more help and when they could have gotten Jason Kidd for Bynum

OK Perkins goes down but Bynum was huge in the playoffs and he was injured hobbling on 1 leg. Who the hell felt sorry for him? To say that Bynum doesn't count but Perkins does is ridiculous. And Ron correctly pointed out that throughout the playoffs Kobe played with a series of injuries, i.e., a broken finger and a knee that needed to be drained.

Bynum is not a marginal player. He's critical to the Laker team and its rotation. If Andrew and Kobe are 100% healthy, this series isn't even close. Stats don't tell all the story. Perkins role on the Celtics proves that.

The whining contnues in Boston, including their coach.

So what Perkins doesn't mean anything to the Celtics? We missed his much needed value when the series was on the line. And common kobe has got something all the time. Then it is his back , then it's finger ,etc. but still he plays like a half god. This guy is so consistent throughout the season whether he is "injured" or not. So don't tell me you can have a better kobe then we saw in the final series! Just watch how Lebron played with his elbow that's what I call an injury(if he was really injured...) . Bynum on the other hand has never been healthy and never will... live with that. We've seen the best from LA they didn't  see the Celtic's best.

Thing is, both Bynum & Kobe were in game 7 playing & contributing...Perkins wasnt.

I have no problem with Artests twitter and I dont blame him for taking a stand. Doc's comments about our starting 5 make for some nice drama for next season but really, its kinda dumb.  Whats gonna be next year if we lose to the Lakers, that they never beat our starting 5 when Tibs was coaching defense?

Frankly, Im not so sure Perk would have helped more than hurt. With Sheed playing well and picking up more minutes, we may have been better off for one game. Lets face it, Perk had a bad season and coupled with his even worsening FT shooting, Techs, illegal picks, disappearing offensive game and lack of rebounding... he's sometimes more a liability than an asset imo.

I'd be more focused on KG. If KG had his 08 game going, we'd be NBA champs. Hopefully he was still affected by his injury and improves this season.

Did Phil make excuses after the 08 finals when there were several he could have used?

Doc is making excuses for his own team's shortcomings. And it is sad. Be a good sport - the season is over and you finished #2. Not bad.

Phil likes to take subtle jabs at opponents to get under their skin, or he will make comments to try and influence the officiating, but he doesn't whine and make excuses.

Prove your claims, I dare you. You wont, because you can not, because you are blowing hot air.

I can't remember him saying that neither. But he always talks "trash" about players. On NBA or ESPN they even made a movie once I believe on how players like nash travel with the ball and such... Maybe it's that what he meant with that comment...

My question was "Did Phil make excuses after the 08 finals when there were several he could have used?"

Your response was "Phil in his own smarmy way did the exact same thing."

My follow up question was "When was this?"

Your response, above, contains a link to Phil making remarks about the officiating from the middle of the season.

Again, I'll say it - Phil has not made one excuse when it came to the 08 finals, and he certainly could have. In this case, he took the high road. Doc did not.

And the WHINING, CRYING continues in Boston. Oh, if only Perkins would not have gotten  hurt, if only Stern had died, if only ONLY the Lakers didn't exist. Pooh hooh hooh! If only Phil Jackson had stayed in Chicago...if if if if!

If only Ron Artest stayed in Houston, if only Ron Ron had not KILLED the Celtics in Game 7 of the finals and frustrated Pierce...if, if, if.

Hopefully the Lakers meet Boston next year with both teams healthy. And if Boston doesn't make it, there will be new excuses.

You are right. I will clarify. Looking back I do respect his ability to give credit where credit is due, but I have a real problem with his manipulative nature during a series. I want to be clear that I respect the Lakers accomplishment, but I have a problem with the way he prods the refs during a series through the media. The point I think that you have to acknowledge is that Doc is no more flawed than Phil in regard to complaining. I prefer what Doc did because he waited until the series was done to complain. Whatever.

And we all seem to forget that the only reason the Lakers made the trade for Gasol was because Bynum went down with a seaon ending injury. They would not have had both players in the finals in 08.
