[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Rondo for Gasol - Mitch Kupchak : I am not suggesting they would or should get that, but that is what they are going to ask for. I do think that when trading big for small, the big brings back more value, even the when the small is younger. Even at age 31, Gasoft is an elite big man who can do a lot of things. I have been thinking of better ways to aquire a player of Gasol's caliber, what would be a better move? Where could the Celtics find a big man that would improve the area that needs improvement the most?

I wonder if Dallas would trade Odom for JON & Daniels (both expiring contracts) and a 1st round pick (wishful thinking) since Odom hasn't fit in well there and rumor was they were gonna acquire JON from NO had the trade for David West gone down with the C's anyway. If Dallas really wants to cut wages to make room for DH and/or DWill this helps them if Orlando doesn't trade DH by the trade deadline. Again .. I have little faith that Dallas goes for this unless they get desperate. Of course with Kidds contract expiring maybe they'll swap Odom for Rondo and send Kidd to LA for that PTE they gave them ... LOL
DH is the domino that must fall ... If Orlando decides to trade DH by the deadline then Dallas can trade Terry/Odom/Marion or Kidd for DH & Hedo but if DH gets traded to NJ then Dallas may want to keep Odom.
The other possibility is a three way involving Rondo if indeed Ainge decides to trade Rondo. But with restrictions on Kaman it requires two separate deals.
1) Kaman ($14M) from NO to Houston for Dragic ($2.1M), Thabeet ($5.1M) & Dalembert ($7M)
2) Rondo & Daniels ($11M) to NO for Dalembert, Dragic & Pick ($9.1M)
Or better yet
1) Kaman ($14M) from NO to Houston for Dalembert ($7M), Thabeet ($5.1M) & Williams ($2.3M)
2) Jack ($5.2M) & Dalembert ($7M) from NO to Boston for Rondo ($10M) & Daniels ($1M) & Pick (2nd Rd)
Houston is really interested in Kaman and I don't think Ainge will want to rent Kaman and then have to resign him for big $. Dalembert isn't Gasol but for half the $ he lets KG go back to PF and solves our problem with Jack at PG providing another run at a Championship. Then Danny has options next year ... He can excercise the option on Dalembert or trade him.
