Rondo now an All-Star?

So now Rondo is invited to play in the all-star game since Joe Johnson is out. Will he accept the invitation gratiously or pout and complain that he wasn't initially selected? -

Definitely improves his marketability... NJ could potentially use that when they move to Brooklyn -

Why did the NBA have to name Rondo in the AS game after JJ went down? We all know that the game itself is primarily there for show-boating but Rondo does not deserve to be there after the fact he wasn't selected. Why not play with what players are fit and ready to go? It's not as if there going to play as if in a playoff game.
Now Rondo gets an All-Star appearance on his resume when he clearly wasn't good enough to get there on merit in the beginning. Sad! -

What other guard, not already on the team, in the East can match his assists and his ability to hit the open man? In a freeform game, he might be the most valuable player - willing to give it up instead of just ballhogging like the rest of 'em. Good selection in basketball terms - bad selection for haters. -

good for rondo. good for boston. there's nothing bad about rajon making the all-star team. lots and lots of players make all-star teams because someone else got hurt or didn't want to play. lots of old AFC QBs can thank dan marino for skipping so many pro-bowls.
not to mention the fact that if he has a great game and shows off his skills, he might be more tradeable...yeah, i'm coming around to the idea that trading him is the best option for both the celtics and rondo. -

Many of the NBA anlaysts on NBA TV thought that Rondo would be selected to the all-star team before the selections were made. They always have to select other players to replace injured players so Rondo was selected. Just because you and many others on this board don't agree with it someone believes that he deserves to be on the all-star team. -

The public clearly didn't want Rondo on the east team as he didn't make any original selection. Every other player got selected their on the merits voted for by the public....all except Rondo. What a wash! -

funny how many players get picked by the fans the definitely don't deserve to be there. I am sure there have been some Lakers voted on the team that didn't deserve it just like KG getting voted in. Obviously the people that do basketball for a living thought both PP and RR deserved to be there or they wouldn't be. -

Tommy Heinsohn and many Celtics fans in general like to claim that the league has it in for Boston. When was the last time a sub-.500 team had two All-Stars? -

Rondo making the a star team is meaningless..
ITs not gonna help his marketability... teams judge players not by how many all star teams they make, they actually try to go a little deeper than what the fans voted.
Its actually ironic... that the NBA suspends him for 2 games for bad conduct...then before he returns to the Celtics, places him on the all star team -

Nothing will make Rondo play more consistent until he grows up and adjust his attitude. That is a bigger weakness than his jump shot. It is a shame, because he could be the best pg in the business if he just changed his attitude. -

Its one heckuva message to send about rewarding bad behavior... in effect vindicating R9R.
The refs can't be happy that the league seems to be siding with the perpetrator.
What happened to the old dictum, "Work hard... play by the rules"?

Rondo and Rubio are the only allstar passers in the game. Great court vision just like Magic. Thanks Rondo for helping us be one up on the Lakers and getting that championship that keeps us above the rest. Congratulations on your selection. -

deron williams was selected by nba coaches as a reserve ahead of rondo, yet received a fraction of the fan votes rondo received. in joe johnson's absence, i'll suggest rondo made the team by virtue of nba coaches, not fan votes. correction welcomed if i'm mistaken.
