In Response to Re: Rondo Rising : No, only in clover land is Red better. Everyone in or who follows the NBA knows PJ is the best of all time. It's ironic that not one other person showed up in Laker land that was able to produce championships. I can understand there is no love loss for PJ in Clover land because he filleted the Celtics many times. Enjoy your day!

First off, thats not ironic.. use dictionary
Second, Id have to agree with those classifying Red above PJ. Red built his teams, coached them and made champions of them. He delegated his coaching to Russ at what, age 48?? Talk about leadership!!
Phil has had a great career, no question. Piled up lots of titles. Only he hasnt displayed the entire package... Phil inherited championship quality teams with usually one of the best, if not the best, player in the game... Jordan, Magic, Shaq & Gasol (lol). Lets face it, he got behind the wheel of a Rolls Royce and took the bows for a nice ride.
Great coach but nowhere near the level of acheivement in all aspects of the game.. Red developed plays, pioneered changes in the game, a defender dominating games, blocking shots... fast break, the weave etc... PJ gave out copies of books about Zen and meditated..
Oh yeah, when his teams started their slides, Phil bolted..
