Re: Sacrifice a lottery pick for Turner?

A lottery pick is not a bargain price in my opinion.  Playing off Rondo (assuming RR's here next year and beyond) we need a pure shooter at the 2 which is not Turner (~25% from 3) - although I will give him credit for a much improved season over last year...  Until your thread, didn't realize he was at 21ppg.  If we had a pure shooter at the 3, then maybe I'd be interested in Turner but I'm not be a long-term fan of a RR-Turner-Green combination.

Would you guys sacrifice a lottery pick for Evan Turner?

Turner is averaging 21 ppg this season.

You guys think he's our long term solution at the SG position?

There are no reports of Ainge being interested in Evan Turner.

But I'm not against getting Turner at a bargain price.

Depends on alot of things.  How high is the pick?  14?  Maybe.  What is the nucleus of the team at the time of the trade?  If it is the same as the current team, then no.  I think that move will catapult us to mediocrity.  What is Turner's contract situation?  That's another factor.

Fierce - this is off topic, but if the Celtics were lucky enough to land Parker in the draft, how, in your view, would that impact Sully or Oly?  Would one of them need to go?  I love Parker and think he's the top talent in the draft, but I'm not sure PF is our greatest need.  That tends to be why I lean towards hoping the Celtics get Smart.  I think he'd be a great fit with our young forwards.

To make salaries work, the Cs would have to include a player, or players. Who would you trade along with the 2014 pick?

The Cs would also have to be prepared to pay E. Turner next season (8-mil qualifying offer)!

Is E. Turner turning the corner, career wise, or is he just getting more shots on a bad team?

I pass on him at this point! Wait to see how the draft pans out!

I'm not giving up a lottery pick for Turner...no way. A player and a 2nd round pick

    25 yrs old

    stats have improved every year

The devil you know, or the devil you don't know!

I'm in for this kid - whoever we draft probably wouldn't be this good for at least 3 years!

That's a tough one, because i'm not too sure how he and Rondo would work togather.

An upgrade at the 2 and the return of Rondo would send us to the playoffs.   Turner would be an upgrade.
