Re: Self Serving Post Of The Week

I think our young bigs, who are in a learning stage, have done pretty well against the better centers and is is ovious that we are improving game to game.  Fav need to play the center spot subed by KO, and Sullinger needs to play the power forward subbed by Bass.  We are rebuilding, so give them time and give Danny time to move Bass is holding up the development of younger players. I would keep and play Fav, KO, Sullinger and Hump they are not that bad and present problems for big centers that like to sit in the middle and wait.  Crawford has come a long way and it is time to get Rondo back in the game.  Rondo will make our bigs look better by getting them good open shots.  Crawford could be our near allstar sixth man.  By trade or draft we may in the near future get a real shot blocking 5, but for now our guys are not that bad and we are playing these teams close, so WHEREISRONDO.

So, how long have the Celtics been without an effective center?  That position has been the most glaring hole for quite a while. Garnett was out of position trying to play there, certainly. This has been a long standing need.

DA understood this when the crafted the Perk/O'Neals committee.  Injuries (and a trade - that I still like) intervened but it was an acknowledgement of a center's importance.
