When you hear 'Showtime' you immediately think of Magic's showtime team! One captures visions of the fast break, no look passes, sky hooks! No team before or after has EVER captured the imagination of not only California but the entire world. Present day stars who have stated that growing up and seeing the Showtime Lakers inspire them are just too numerous to count. The world will never see another 'Showtime' team, but we can all sit back and marvel at the team that saved the NBA!

actually, the game the little guy was describing was actually invented by the Celtics in the late '50's.....the no look passes, the incredible dribbling and ball distribution, the wave of fast break scoring.....all the product of Red, the Cous, and Big Bill...Boston invented this style of play.....the Lakers simply copied it 25 years later...while that current Celtic team of Bird and Tiny were doing the same thing!
