Signing Bass the big mistake we made

We would have been able to sign another big man.  An unbelievable and inexcusable mistake.

Actually the Celts would not have been able to sign another big man.

The Celts were over the salary cap. There were only 2 ways the Celts could have signed another big man, for the MLE or the BAE.

If the Celts didn't re-sign Bass, our roster right now would just be missing Bass.

Salary cap rules prevented the Celts from signing another big man last summer.

Look he had 22 points last night.  He still is a bench player. He just is not very good. You have to wonder was BBD someone we should have kept.  Apparently Doc hated him, and Bass played well last year, but Bass is a far more limited player after two seasons.

You point out the  realities but the realities for over two years has been adding a big man.  No big man, you end up where we are now. KG needed help, no guarantee he would have been playing now, I think it is clear another big would have probably spared him a lot of wear and tear and our record would be better.

Agree.  Does anyone know if we will have the money to sign another big man next season?  We still need one.

    Unfortunately the answer is no.

That definitely isn't good news.  Maybe someone will have to be traded for us to get another big man.

That's why the Celts had to re-sign Bass, they can use his contract in a trade.

It's just unfortunate that Bass was playing so poorly early in the season. But his contract can get the Celts a player worth 7m.

Don't think of Bass as a player if you don't like him. Think of him as a contract that can be used in a trade.

The Celts are over the cap. If they want to get a big man, a trade is the only way.

Then we have to use a draft pick to get a big for Bass.  He is still untradeable.
