Heat is the first team to win it all despite the fact that they were dead last in rebounds.

Clearly rebounds was a secondary issue to the Celtics not winning in 2010.

Injuries to key players (KG 1st, Perk 2nd, Ray 3rd), underperforming stars (Rondo, Ray, KG, PP in that order) and the refs in game 7 bailing LA out all played a bigger role in robbing C's of a title than the fact that they were a very poor rebounding team that year and in 2012.

Some championship systems like the current Heat and former Celtic ones simply don't put as much emphasis on rebounds as you'd see traditionally, but it didn't stop the C's from getting to title games and the ECF, series they would have won if they were healthier and 2 games were not horribly officiated (gm 7 LA '10 and game 2 Miami '12). Clearly it hasn't stopped the Heat from going back to back even if SA did deserve to win this years finals.
