OK now we can focus on other alternatives. By the way can Varajao ever stay healthy?  Cavs got greedy and stupid.  They should have sold high a few weeks ago.

Maybe now is the time for the Celtic to pick him up on the cheap?  They will havetime when he is healthy to get back in the swing of things and then ramp up for the playoffs.  He will be effective for years to come.

He is injury prone but after I posted my thoughts I thought of what you posted.  Maybe Cleveland would give him up cheap. The thing is, is he really going to be back this year?

I would swap Bass for him even up right now on the come that he could be ready for playoffs and, if not, one good rebounder player solved for next year...if he stays healthy, of course, but even life's a gamble.

please understand the salary cap and the Celtics poistion on the salary cap when proposing trades. It is not that hard to see what Varajao is making and what Bass is making

Does not make any sense to trade for a player that is injured.  Are you suggesting that the proposed trade be contingent on him returning at some future date healthy enough to play?  and that he is worth giving up something of value and effectively shutting down this season?

First he doesn't fill our ideal need for a true center.  Second, we would have to give up something of value to get him. and third, his game may never be the same after an injury.  We have seen many players returning from injury who could not efectively compete anymore.

Agree with second and third points but just so you are aware, the chances of the Cs getting a true center is slim to none as there are only a few that exist in the nba.... what true center are you suggesting?
