thank you. So which is it, do they or don't they? So they will only come if they get paid? So if Doc were not the coach and the Cs were to pay, then you are saying no one would come?

Generic statement I guess. I am sure some love to and some don't. PP and KG love to play for Doc, that is obvious. But what about the ones who never see any court time?

Doc, if anything, was forced to see some of the talent he had riding the pine due to injuries and no other reason.

You make it seem like players were lined up at the door to play for Doc, if so, then where were they?  The Cs would have been a bit more competitive and won more championships under his reign if that were the case.

You're forgetting that since KG and Ray came to Boston, the Celts only had the MLE to offer. Just because players want to play for Doc, it doesn't mean the players would sacrifice money just to play for Doc.

The only reason to go after del Negro is to make sure we have a great chance for a top lottery pick in 2014.

    Del Negro can't coach.

He may end up being a good coach eventually but he's not there yet.

Yikes, this could be a disaster...an ML Carr towel waving train wreck

Many here have no understanding of what Doc meant as a coach.  They will find out how irrelevant we are when he leaves.  Vinny Del Negro or Brian Shaw coaching here for this franchise will be so mediocre half the people on this board will be gone.  The Celtics need to hold out for a way to get Blake Griffin if Doc must go,  from there  we have something to change the culture. Still my preference is for Doc to say.

The coach that will replace Doc Rivers will immediately here chants of "we want Doc" the moment the Celts go on a 7-game losing streak.

    WRONG AGAIN THEN...
