Surprise Player Missing From "Safest" 8 NBA Draft Prospects

Safest NBA draft picks from Bleacher Report:

    8.  Harris - 6'4" SG - solid well rounded game - [picked 10-15]

    7.  Gordon - 6'8" SF - 7'wingspan, off the charts cieling for 18 yr old - [picked 5-10]

    6.  Hood - 6'8" SF - 20ppg, reliable and consistent - [10-15]

    5.  Staukas - 6'6" SG - 20ppg, deadly 3pt, good passer, drives w/power [10-15]

    4.  McDermott - 6'8" SF - 28ppg, court sense, deadly perimeter shot  [15-25]

    3.  Smart - 6'4" G - solid all around skills, versitile, leadership/atitude [1-5]

    2.  Randle - 6'9" PF - 29ppg, nba body, power [1-5]

    1.  Parker - 6'8" SF - future all star, complete NBA ready player  [1-3]

5 of the top 8 could be on the board for the Celtics second pick. Notable player missing from top 8 is obviously Wiggins, whose stock has continued to drop, but may still be the number one pick.  I don't agree with Randle as second safest pick.  I would pass on him even if available and stick with Sully, who has a comperable but more proven NBA game, as our franchise PF.

I would still take Wiggins over any of these guys if I had the choice.  HUGE ceiling.

    #2 Walker

    #3 Smart

    #4 Randle

    #5 Embiid

    #6 Exum

    #7 Gordon

    #8 Harris

    #9 Cauley-Stein

    *  I don't know anything of Hood, Staukas or McDermott to judge them.  Feb/Mar will give us all a better POV obviously.

who said wiggins stock has dropped? other guys have risen, but wiggens hasen't dropped. he's actually done very well at kansas. this is a great draft class and there is no consensus #1 pick.
Just the fact that Wiggins was the next LeBron James, once in a ligetime, consensus #1 pick without the slightest doubt... now sliding to 5th pick in some polls.

It has as much to do with other players exceeding expectations as it does with Wiggins not dominating and showing that maybe he isnt as super-human as the press had brainwashed you.

well....lets be honest it is December after all.

I have found draftnet to be a solid place to get info year after year....I posted it becuase this post was about how the players are moving up and down TODAY.

it will all change and some players may not even come out this year.

but the important thing is where the Celtics will pick in this draft and WHO may be there when they do.

I personaly think we'll pick between 6-9 and then in the 18-22 range

if I am correct, we won;t be getting any of the top 3 guys that everyone wants and might have a hard time getting that "can't Miss" prospect that most here want to lose big for.

Frankly I'd be good with J. Young around 9 and Harrison later.

but we'd need to get a legit NBA center somewhere, and Hawes ,Gortat or Kaman don't do it for me.

    trade?

maybe, but to get a legit NBA center will require Rondo at least.

we'll see many mocks between now and draft day and almost all of them will be wrong.

    Cool

Sorry KDP but that mock draft is CRACK!

Denver number 2 pick selects a raw, high potential center? They have McGee and just got rid of Koufous to get him and Mozgov more minutes. That mock is on crack
well....lets be honest it is December after all.

    Cool

who said wiggins stock has dropped? other guys have risen, but wiggens hasen't dropped. he's actually done very well at kansas. this is a great draft class and there is no consensus #1 pick.
Just the fact that Wiggins was the next LeBron James, once in a ligetime, consensus #1 pick without the slightest doubt... now sliding to 5th pick in some polls.

It has as much to do with other players exceeding expectations as it does with Wiggins not dominating and showing that maybe he isnt as super-human as the press had brainwashed you.
i don't recall anyone saying wiggins is super-human. nobody cares about the #1 pick. the excitment about the upcoming draft has to do with the depth of #1 caliber prospects, wiggins is just one of them. maybe, just maybe, you're the one paying too much attention to the media.
Sounds like you're back-tracking.  Wiggins stock IS dropping.  AND you say nobody cares about the #1 pick?  HAHA.  The whole preseason discussion here and everywhere else was who would get Wiggins.  Now Wiggins isn't even leading his own team in points, rebounds, or assists.  He may have potential, but so did Gerald Green.  So far this season Wiggins has been a disappointment.  Wake up.

wow you had to go pretty far back to get that one!!

    LOL.

I didn't say they got em all right, I said I find their info useful year over year.

they always have one or two players ranked too high each year (and a couple ranked too low) but overall they have pretty good info.
