In Response to Re: Tainted Championship : Thanks for the response only I dont know what point youre trying to make. Lakers dont pay Kobe to rebound and his bad shooting was many times the result of good 1on1 defense by Ray and TA. and if I wanted to use your rationale that Kobe was playing 1 on 3, then it shows how inept he really is that he would continue to pump up horrible shots being guarded by 3 defenders. and if the Celts did such a phenomenal job of trapping him to the point he had no where to go but to jack up a bad shot... then youre making my point that Kobe as ineffective and a liability
    Posted by Karllost

They play Kobe to do whatever it takes to win. Kobe is the major driving force on the team, and the team just finished off a back to back championship run. If you are really actually trying to pass off the notion that Kobe is ineffective, and a liability, you are just making crazy talk. That is just silly, it makes you look like you are either unintelligent, or you are emotionally driven and irrational.  Kobe played this series on a bad knee, which he will get surgery in this off season, and a bad finger on his shooting hand, which will also need surgery. You would get down on your knees and thank god if anyone near the caliber of a player that Kobe is was to find his way onto the Celtic roster. You need to man up, accept the defeat, and cut the crap. You are taking that Celtic pride and crapping all over it with this melodramatic defeatist BS. You are an embarrassment to the colors, just like when I see Lakers fans doing this same type of childish routine when they can't accept losing. So weak!

You living in make believe land?

You come up with all these excuses for Kobe, knee, finger.... I thiought he was MVP.. why all the excuses??? lol

and your theory of Kobe being the driving force of the Lakers... well, this is true, just not in this series.. Oh, he tried to be but unless youre a complete imbecile or just dont know very much about basketball, then youd know Kobe was terribly ineffective this series.

Now, you can be starry eyes about Kobe and fantasize what he was supposed to be, but the reality is he continuously put up bad shot after bad shot..  he was defended 1on1 by oldtimer Ray Allen and Ray stuck it to him good!

So did Tony Allen, a bench player.  Now, you can say all the gaga you'd like, but we all saw it with out eyes how Kobe was forced into horrible shots that he continued to take because for Kobe, its all about him... oh btw, he missed most of them..

So live in your fantasy... Kobes your hero, so enjoy.. but people that know better understand this prima donna almost cost the Lakers the title with his selfish..INEFFECTIVE ball hogging & shooting.

Up by 13 in the third quarter and Kobe cant make a basket if his life depended on it and the Celtics still lose.  Qucik do the heimlich maneuver the Celtics choked!  HAHAHAHAHHAHA I hope Tom Brady leaves pathetic Boston and goes to the Giants.  The true MVP for the Lakers is Ray Allen.  The Lakers fans should have been yelling MVP MVP when Ray Allen was shooting free throws.  "Win one title and you got lucky, win two and then we can talk" Jordan. In '08 when the Lakers got pushed around and didn't get calls, it was because "they were soft and couldn't deal with the physicality of Boston".  Now, when the Lakers do the pushing, all the Boston fans are whining about no fouls.  And in the '10 series, there were multiple games where Kobe, Lamar and/or Artest were on the bench early in the first half b/c of foul calls.  If Kobe doesn't have 5 fouls in Game 2, there is no Game 7.   If, if, if...  Resorting to whining about fouls is the last thing I would expect from Boston fans.  Shows the fans have about as much class as KG.

Laker fans can brag all they want about their fake championship. All I know is that w/o the refs. They would have lost this series 4-1. Game 7 was one of the worst officiated 4th quarters of all time.

As is typical with the dumb azz's like you here, when the facts present too strong a case, you resort to getting personal.

Cant blame you, its the only thing left for an ignorant person like yourself.

and I wonder what kind of children you might be raising when you must be teaching them to bury their heads in the sand and ignore facts, but listen to the spin and what sounds good.  Hopefully they grow up with more on the ball than someone like you, who is unequipped to be teaching anybody about very much

When I first saw the subject "tainted championship" I thought this was going to be a discussion of the Celtics' victory in '08, when the Lakers were missing both Bynum and Ariza the whole series.  But I'm sure C's fans claim that victory with no asterisks.

Cant argue with you there.. Ray was a disater shooting and they were mostly open shots too. If he even shot poor, Celts could have easily won the title but he sukked.... even worse than Kobe.

I think we have a criminal on our hands guy.

As for Artest - I actually thought he was a decent guy... guess not. What he did was completely classless and shows the traits of a sore-loser. But what could I have expected out of an LA team...

Cameo appearances don't count.  That's like saying Brian Scalabrine "played" in Game 7, or that Luke Walton "played" in multiple games in this series.  Such bittnerness when your franchise has only 4 rings since 1976!!

They are angry Lakers and Laker fans because they have read all the blogs and everyone has posts calling this the tainted championship that they were given by the referees. It really wasn't the Lakers fault and they shouldn't complain but they will ever be known as the team that was unfairly handed a championship by bad refereeing.

Stop it, you're being silly.  It was for a TV show in Los Angeles, of course he's going to talk up the rivalry.

Every real basketball fan understands what happened here. The Celtics, although missing open shots all series long, were still better than the Lakers and were going to win the championship...

Enter David Stern & his ref minnions..

24 forth qtr fouls later and the Lakers squeak out a tainted championship... just like they did in 2002 when the world saw what a farce the NBA can be.

Stern needs at least one big market to be successful & their over rated 40% shooter Kobe to unjustly be elevated to superstardom when we all know he was a selfish, underachieving ballhog that did his best to give the Celtics the championship by throwing up every stupid shot known to mankind in his efforts to be the hero.

24 foul shots in the fourth quarter...Kobe's drive into the lane following Gasol's push down of Rondo was not a "foul by rule". Just because contact is made with the defensive player inside the offensive foul circle does not mean it is a foul. It is and should be a non call when the contact is generated by the offensive player.
