Re: Teams That may be looking to move a center

some move has to be made for a big man, but it's all about what the other teams are willing to take.
I'd be willing to move some combination of green, lee, terry, melo, bass, barbosa, and our next years first (if lottery protected).
I wouldn't move AB or Sullinger as (along with rondo) they represent the only semblance of a future this team has.
rondo is going nowhere. can't get any value for pierce, garnett, and wilcox.
if utah is not intent on signing big al he is making 15m and is a ufa after this season.
gortat turned down an extension offer and is only making 7.7m per.
think the others on the list either make too much, could not be obtained, or wouldn't help the celtics enough to make a deal. thinking about cousins (who comes with huge baggage) and varejao is dreaming. it'd likely take AB, sullinger, next years first, and then some to even get in the conversation. ain't happening. Love? hah. he's the franchise. rondo, sullinger, AB, and the first probably still doesn't get it done. gasol? don't think LA makes a deal with boston, but he makes just under 20 million, has played horribly this year, and it'd probably take rondo to get the deal done. if it was green, lee, and someone like terry why not? if he's got anything left in the tank you potentially make a run at a title for the next two years. that's about the shelf life for this team anyway. gasol, garnett, pierce, rondo, AB isn't a bad starting line-up. still would have sullinger, barbosa, wilcox, bass coming off the bench. pick-up another bench player maybe. you might actually make some noise in the playoffs.
dalembert is at best a back-up player and while anything would help at this point he can't move, can't score, and has gotten old quick. he can block shots and rebound, but unless he's one of two bigs they plan to pick-up don't see him changing much. he's also only played in only total 16 games this year and he's so deep in scott skiles' doghouse he has gotten 9 DNPs in a row. could very well be available and it would be an okay pick-up if it was one of two moves.
hopefully they find a way to bring in legitimate big man for some combo that doesn't involve sully or AB, het wilcox back, return to playing the hard nose D they have been known for and start clicking again. I'm afraid though that if they don't find a quality big nothing they do will make a difference come playoff time.
