THAT'S THE JEFF WE WANT TO SEE EVERY DAY!!!!

Loved the jab step fade over two defenders. That was my favorite move of the night! I yelled "Get'em Jeff"!

Or just give him the ball at half court after a rebound or a turnover before the defense get set and let him go to the basket.  That seems to work well too.

Read something last night that made a lot of sense:

Right now, Jeff is the only player on this team who can create for himself.

He needs to take advantage of that. Every. Singe. Game.

When a team relies too heavily on one offensive player, defenses will find ways to cripple a team's offense. Plays are designed to compensate for players who cannot create for themselves. Penetrating PGs collapse interior defenses to create open looks for teammates. The pick-and-roll is a similar mechanism. Avery penetrates to score for HIMSELF!

A player like Jeff Green will find it easier to break free when multiple offensive threats exist. Coaches design plays to hide player deficiencies. It's still not  yet apparent what the Celtics are doing to address this issue.

By comparison, when certain players were featured in the Toronto game, Faveranti was able to show an offense. Then came Bass and then came a void that Green attempted to fill and fringe offensive weapons like Lee, Avery, Humphries etc. emerged. Yet a well designed offensive system (which we will eventually have) serves to create multiple scoring opportunies by many players to keep defenses from concentrating on key individuals.

Yup - but we won't ever see it.

Jeff Green is fool's gold - I'd suggest letting it go.

That said I would love nothing better than to be wrong about him.
