    In response to Kirk6's comment:

Doc said in an interview that the Celtics are instructed not to go for offensive rebounds unless they are already in the lane when a shot is taken.

As a result, last year the Celtics were the worst offensive rebounding team in NBA history.

Is this a good idea or a bad idea?

Interstingthe Buls who run the same defense are among theleague leaders in offensive boards. But they got young dogs on the front line. We don't.

The choice for the celtics is to get beat in transition regualrly for a marginal increase in offensive rebounding. The Celtics have actualy been pretty terrifc at defensive rebounding.
