And I thought you gonna say that the "knicks coach" is an idiot, as he played small ball the entire game^^

    In response to Kirk6's comment:

The Knicks lead the league in threes, and that is the reason.

    Practice makes perfect.

With that reasoning the Knicks coach is also smarter than Popovich and every other coach in the NBA, not just Doc.

How about the Knicks coach's name? It is Mike Woodson Kirk.  He has been around awhile.

If you're winning you always do a good job? Isn't he an idiot cause he plays small?

Small ball never works as Kirk has pointed out many times. That's why the knicks and Heat are so bad this year.

Tyson Chandler for the Knicks and the Heat have Bosh.

    We have Brandon Bass???

    And that's also Doc's fault!

Thank you!!!!!   This thread makes no connection with reality.  If you have guys who can shoot threes, great, but Bass, Randolph, White, etc are not going to be hitting many 3's.   they need to practice REBOUNDING, especially our starting power forward!

when are you going to start a thread, about the quality of the players we have vs the Heat, Knicks, Spurs, and Thunder.   When Ray, Paul, and KG were younger, the stats favored us.   These guys all got old and our young replacements got hurt - so our stats don't look so great anymore, including our record.   Same coach, different results so you think maybe the quality of the players makes a difference?   Maybe?   Possibly???

You think maybe its because they have more talent??

Or because their bigs shoot threes...

I have been saying since early on, that most good teams have several players that can shoot the threes...and we only have a few...(see San Antonio, Heat, NY)

thats why i wanted  Redick to sign at mid season...

I have not wavered from that...

But you claim Doc is an idiot because he plays small ball and now its because of the threes..??

Yes, the NY coach is a good coach.. he immedately responded to Doc's moves with his own..

For example, when Lee was guarding Melo, Melo went down low to post him up...

That is a specific move that he made which makes him a good coach..not because he tells his bigs to shoot threes...sorry I don't get it...

What is significant is the Celtics without Garnett have lost badly to the Knicks the last two games.

The Knicks have been without Chandler and Stoudemire in both games.  This is troubling that we fall so short with Green and Pierce versus JR Smith and Anthony.   Bradley and Lee have not been very good on defense and it begs the question what is wrong with the team.  Maybe we just are not that good.  Hope not.

Chandler is hurt. But even if he isn't they are going small with Carmelo at power forward. Also Bosh is a power forward playing center, like KG only he is smaller than KG.

    Both teams are going small.

Courtney Lee and Jason terry and Paul Pierce were to be the 3 point shooters. Lee is well below his career average. Jason Terry is about where he always is. Green and Bradley are doing okay on 3 point shooting and KG never takes them, no matter how much he is asked too.

Great coaching that can't get players to contribute.

Oh I don't know. He has a championship. two finals appearances and three ECF in five years.  In Orlando he took a lottery team to the playoffs. Lebron James has made a show of praising his coaching. As have players like Shag (after he left) and KG.

Jeff Green has the highest PER of his career. Greg Stiemsa was one of the most effective defensive players in the league last year. This year everything is way down for him.

    What has woodson accomplished exactly?

Woodson is an underrated coach..He is actually good. Might have not won any championships but it doesnt mean he is a bad coach. I dont necessarily find Erik Spoelstra to be a good coach, he just has a good cast with the best player in the NBA.

Any coach that wins a championship and takes their team to 27 wins in a row is a very good coach..

I do think he is a good coach. But NOT because he makes his team shoot a few three pointers after practice. Also, I don't think his beating doc last night makes him a better coach.
