    Re: The Master Plan

I agree completely. I think we will be in the running for Wiggins without a doubt. Philly, the Magic. the Suns and Boston will battle it out for the rights to draft the next franchise player. Even if we don't get Wiggins we will get a very good to great player. We could come out of this next draft with more than one great player if the cards were to fall the right way, or Danny trades a couple picks to move up.

The Celts don't have to be the worst team in the league this coming season.

Remember, the Cavs got a supposedly #8 pick from the Clips and Baron Davis for Mo Williams. After the lottery, that supposedly #8 pick turned into the #1 pick that turned out to be Kyrie Irving.

Andrew Wiggins is a franchise player.

There's no way Ainge is not thinking about Wiggins.

It's just stupid to try to make this current Celtics team better just to battle for the 8th seed this coming season.

    Ainge is not stupid.

4 teams won less than 26 games last season. If your prediction of 26 wins comes true we will be right there for Wiggins, and don't forget we're due for the ping pong balls to bounce our way.  I predict we will win 23 games this coming season. This year less means more for the C's.

    True.

The last time the Celts had the #1 pick was back in 1950!

OneOnOne is the only one old enough to remember when old Chuckie played for the Celtics.

    Re: The Master Plan

Dumb comparison.  The Lakers and Celtics are in completely different situations to begin with.  The Lakers with Nash, Kobe and Gasol have to win now given their age and needed to few added pieces which may get them in playoff contention. Anything can happen then.

The Celtics are young, inexperienced and are lottery bound no matter how you cut it.  It would be stupid for the Celtics to invest in players this year.  Danny will observe which players are keepers, which players are compatable with Stevens and his system, and invest in FA after this season.  The shallow and uniformed may call it tanking.  But its simply intelligent team building.

I don't give a fat rats azz about he Fakers...I only want us in the lottery.....don't care at all about those people in LA...DA is most definitely planning on the lottery or close to it.....Fav is NOT a real center yet not ever having played one second as an NBA center ...DA's vision of the coming year is a lot more close to reality than a few posters here want to acknowledge.

Just look at what the Lakers are doing and compare that to what Ainge is doing for the Celts.

The Lakers signed guys like Chris Kaman and Nick Young.

That's a sign of a team wanting to win.

Ainge is saying the Celts will not be tanking.

But moves like waiving Shavlik is an indication of tanking.

Shav would just have cost the Celts 1m and he would've been a big help coming off the bench.

Right now the Celts have Oly, Sully, Faverani, Bass, and Humphries as bigs and only Faverani is the true Center.

That's not a team built to win.

    really?

    Randolph?

    he is a difference maker?

in what league is that, I would like to know...because it's NEVER been in the NBA!!

Come on Fierce...I know you said the other day that Ainge woudn't cut Randolph and all right before Randolph was...CUT.

but just say....you were wrong on that. no need to make out like Randolph was anything more than SCRUB in the NBA.

    Re: The Master Plan

I should add.......I will say right now the Celtics will NOT get the #1 pick in next years draft.

even if we end up with the worst record in the league, the odds are we won't get #1.

but not to dispare, there could be up to 5 TOP level players in next years draft.

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nba/news/20130712/nba-draft-2014-andrew-wiggins-julius-randle-marcus-smart/

so even though odds are we won't end up with #1, if we are in the top five, we should get a possible future all-star.

unless we get Aldridge first that is!

    You got it wrong.

Mployee was the one who said Randolph will NOT get cut.

I was the one who said Randolph will get cut because he doesn't fit in.

Check the posts again because I never said Randolph won't be cut.

fair enough I thought you said there was no need to cut him now....my mistake.

I am correct on Randolph being an NBA scrub however and  that his being on or off the celtics roster will have NO BEARING on  the teams sucess.
