In Response to Re: The Miami Heat has Passed the Celtics : Dont think where we played mattered... Perk was not there thus we lost some rebounds and intimidation... if we are not healthy we lose.. it doesnt matter where we play

Respectfully disagree - Home team wins 70 % of the time in the playoffs.  Lakers were 11-1 at home last year...........we need HCA

That left a 30% chance... take Perk out and it dropped it down to 1%

Re: The Miami Heat has Passed the Celtics

It will be interesting to witness which 2 teams finally make it to the finals. Last season, the Celtics indirectly helped the Lakers by eliminating 2 teams with better records. Had Cleveland or Orlando won the East, Home Court would have gone to either of those Eastern teams. But the Celtics played out of their minds and made it to the finals.

Home Court was crucial last season as it was crucial 3 seasons ago when the Celtics won. The screaming and crying on this board after the Lakers won game 7 was all about the officiating. That officiating would have been different in Boston.

The emotional drive gets amped way up when players are at home with their fans serving to keep the players motivated. History and the odds bare this out. In a 7 game series, Home Court is critical.

Some posters have said that they would rather have a healthy Celtic team enter the playoffs rather than Home Court. Why make that choice. If it were my choice, I'd want to have both Home Court and a healthy team.

    Sorry, I don't make excuses!
30% chance is not good enough.  Numbers don't lie
