1) Gives Celtics fans a giddy feeling for the next day or two.
2) Emboldens some of these same fans to once again make predictions of the Lakers demise.
3) Resurrects the over confident chatter of raising banner #18.
Sorry folks, nothings changed. Those of you who truly know basketball and the NBA, know this is blip. You know the Lakers will once again be there...in the Finals. It's never easy for the Lakers cause they play in the west...yes, the tougher conference.
Those of you with half a brain (and that seems to cover a pretty large portion of this forum), the 3 points above pretty much says it for you. Remember the Lakers lost TWO games to Phoenix and two games to the Thunder in last year's playoffs. And there was ALL KINDS of chatter on this forum about the Lakers being done.
Then the C's had the Lakers down 3 games to 2...how did that work out?
Enjoy that giddy feeling for a day or two and then get ready for your next opponent, the Heat. They're NOT the Knicks. I don't know if the C's will beat them, but I really thought they had a much better chance with Perkins (since Fat Shaq can't seem to pull his Lard butt off of the trainers table). -

Hey, Qdaddy. You notice that ever since you keep talking about Shaq and the trainer's table the Laker players are also getting injured? Coincidence? -

How could the teams be even at 2-2? -

2-2 is meaningless. Which team will get to 4 first.
You should know that...the C's were never able to get that magical 4th win in last years finals...remember? -

What trouble? Kobe, like Michael Vick, has moved on. You and your fellow Celtics fans like to bring up things that aren't relevant to basketball. But I expect responses like yours from 10 year olds...you aren't 10 are you?
Shaq, on the other hand, is more than happy to get paid for doing nothing. He's not motivated to win another ring...he's motivated by money, although he didn't get much of it on this contract. But, if that makes him happy, more power to him. -

Posted by Qdaddy10 year olds also frequently ignore pertinent details and counter-arguments proving them wrong and continue spouting their same old shtick in an effort to appear in the right.Just because Kobe's moved on doesn't mean the fans of the game have, that's a terrible argument. If Gilbert Arenas keeps getting into some shady stuff and ends up killing someone but moves on from it, you know damn sure no one is going to go "oh well as long as he moved on from it, it's cool."The Lakers got outplayed by a lesser team not once but TWICE, despite your "blip" argument. The Celtics scraped together two wins against a lesser team (but a team much tougher than the Hornets) and then played brilliant defense and hit shot after shot after shot to close out the series in 4 games. Lakers are going to at least 6 games in their series. Celtics are playing better basketball than the Lakers right now. That's a fact, Bro Montana. -

Wow, 2-2... so how do you know they will win? Things are not looking so good.
Now that Kobe has a sprained ankle, how will he keep up with Chris Paul?
Paul has been killing the Lakers. It appears that penetrating guards, are the Laker's kryptonite this year.
... so if they do happen to get by NO, they will have to face Westbrook, and then Rondo. ...could be tough. -

Posted by QdaddyQ lets real. Phil is not happy. I very well think LA will win the series but in no way should they have had to. They as much as boston needed some extra time before round 2. If you really think they have played well in this round you have rose colored galsses on. You may flip the switch and play better the rest of the way but I don't belive for one second you are happy about it, -

Do you think Kobe or WE FANS really care what you think about him? As most people on this forum know, I'M NOT a Kobe fan. I lost all respect for him when he threw his teammates under the bus a few years ago during his rant about trading Andrew Bynum. But I will say that I'd rather have him as a Laker than a Celtic or on any other team. You don't HAVE to like him because of his past. But bringing up things in his past has no relevance on the basketball court. Michael Vick is DESPISED by a lot of people, and rightly so...but he served his time, so let him get on with his life. Kobe took care of his situation, so move on. WE DON'T CARE THAT YOU DON'T LIKE IT! And if you think less of me because of it, so be it. I sleep with a clear conscience.
You know nothing about the Lakers. So they got outplayed. Did you forget...it's a 7 game series? The Lakers looked like crap in last year playoffs too. How did that turn out? The Lakers only need to play well enough to win. And if they don't, I guess they'll spend the rest of the season watching others in the Finals. Every team that plays the "defending champs" always brings their best game. It's up to the Lakers to bring their best game. But I don't lose sleep over them. They've ALWAYS turned it on when they had to. I expect they'll do the same this year. -

The Lakers are not done
But Kobe's legs aren't getting any younger chasing Chris Paul all over the place. His ankle injury and his need to guard Paul in order to get any semblance of defense against him are directly related.
I said that Kobe would pay a toll if he was forced to chase Chris Paul. I don't know if he's young enough any more to fully recover from this. You better cheer for the Mavs so he can take the series off against Stephenson (defensive specialist) instead of potentially facing Brandon Roy -

I'm not very happy when the Lakers lose, but I also know that they're capable of dominating when they get in the right mind set. Phil's job is to make sure they're in that mind set. -

Posted by QdaddyYour team is in trouble. if they had maanged to close out the series in 4 then kobe would be resting, for a week (like Shaq) instead he is risking making an injury into a chronic condition, because of the fact, that the Lakers are in real jeopardy in round 1 and he has to play to make sure the Lakers don't blow the series with a team missing its second best player.Consider this an intercention, and I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but the Thunder are coming out of the west. I take no pleasure in that, in fact, I'm sad to see it. I really would have enjoyed whipping the Lake show for banner 18. I think it would have been fitting since we got most of our banners against them, but it's not to be. The Lakers, just don't have enough this year, too old, to complacent. -

Chris Paul is making Kobe look like a beginner... simply dominating the Lakers backcourt.
I think Kobe faked his injury because he couldnt stay with Paul and couldnt handle the embarrassing questions about it. Yea, Kobe did play Paul some and he couldnt do squat.
Face it, Kobe is sliding downhill and picking up speed with every game. He wasnt much of a factor to begin with, rarely shooting over 50% and bricking badly so many big shots he was making Jared Jeffries look like a go-to guy.
Side of the backboard?? lol -

Qdaddy,To come on this BB a Celtics BB talking trash about the Celtics and poohing poohing the Lakers problems with a injured group like the Hornets really points to you being very troubled. What are you doing here? Are you trying to break the dynamic of trolls? Even the stupidest of your troll brethren don't talk sh-- with performances like you had Sunday. You talk about people here with half brains, I now place your age at under 20. You talk about others on this BB but you Q you are deeply troubled. Find something else to do with your time. -

Well Q, not quite, Kobe has a sprained ankle, so it is very different than last year.
... and I didn't know that Kobe asked for a Bynum trade.
Wow so, he was responsible for Shaq leaving, responsible for KG coming to Boston, and he wanted Bynum to leave as well? ...just the kind of player I thought he was. -

This is the same thing that happen last year... Boston went through the field in the east with relative ease and look how it turned out... just keep on watching the game... you guys got alot more on your plate to worry about with the heat than the lakers with NOH or Dal and Por in the 2nd round... Check back again in couple weeks when your series with the heat is about over then we will see...
