Oh quit blaming Ray,when they should have been up by 6 to 10 points at halftime, but Paul turn over Pierce kept the Cavs in the game.

I dont think Ray has anything to do with the rebounding situation.  Celtics have always been a bad rebounding team.

Magics out reboundered the Celts the other night by 10, and Celts still won.

If you watch the game, the offensive rebounds the Cavs got, Ray was on the other side of the court, not part of the play at all.

What cost the Celts this game is clear turnovers, all the ones by Pierce, and the one by Garnet for traveling, and the one by Bass for not being able to hold onto the rebound.
In Response to Re: This Loss was A Reminder : This is where I have a problem with Doc.............he definitely shows favoristism to the vets............ we had a good thing going and instead of bringing RA in as a sub because of his missed time he gives him basically 2 minutes for every one of Pietrus who had been giving us some energy..........I looked at the stat sheet and if you just looked at the stats it looked like should have won this easily........Bring RA off the bench Doc and lets get the energy guys to play

Pietrus had 4 rebounds against Orlando as the starting guard and Ray had 3 tonight.  In the game before that, Sasha had 4 rebounds as the starting guard vs 3 for Ray tnight.   That's not a difference maker.

Bradley had 4 rebounds those 2 games vs 1 tonight.  The bigs had been averaging 21 to 24 rebounds in the previous 3 wins.  Tonight they got 17.   Bass's lack of rebounding tonight had nothing to do with Ray.  He just didn't grab the ball.  Let's hold Bass accountable for a bad game like we give him credit for a good game.  He can't be a star one game and then its someone else's fault the next game.  He and Paul just had a bad rebounding game tonight, plain and simple.

Yes,Bass has been horrible on defense too. He is nowhere near as good on defense as Big Baby is.

And the shooting guard position for the Cavs tonight got 7 rebounds.  Half of them were Gee against Pietrus and Moore.  So, Ray had 3 Boards and his opponent had 4, maybe 5.   Again, our rebounding problem is not at shooting guard.  Our bigs are not consistent rebounders and we all know that.

    Exactly.

Ray, career stats: is actually a better rebounder than Peitras.  So if rebounding is the problem, like the OP says it is, then playing more peitras over Ray is not the answer.
No Ray Allen we win 4 games.  No Ray Allen we were averaging 40.75 rebounds per game. Ray Allen comes back and we can only get 33 rebounds and ended up losing to the Cavs.

So, if Rondo comes back after a 3 and 1 record and we lose one while the big men rebound less, its Rondo's fault, right?

Go back to your original post in this thread.  You had something going when you said " we need a big man who rebounds and scores inside".  That is the key to more consistency for this team.  Unfortunately, it will be VERY difficult to find.

And that offensive rebound happens because Anderson V has more hustle than Bass and took the rebound from him.  Had nothing to do with Paul nor Bradley nor Ray on that play.  It was about Bass not holding onto the ball.

I have yet to see a big man who could help them much in any of your trade proposals.
In Response to Re: This Loss was A Reminder : We can get that big man if we give up Ray or Rondo. It's either we keep Ray or Rondo, we can't have both.
    Posted by Fiercest34
I would agree with you if they can get a big man that makes them a championship team.  But, I don't see anyone doing that trade.  We'll only get another player like Bass or Wilcox and that won't change us.  So, we'll have to ride it out and get somone in free agency or get someone out of the draft (or maybe work out a trade using the draft choices and a player).   But until then - we have what we have.  No one is going to give us a star big man for Ray nor for Rondo.
