In Response to Re: This team is really, really good : Are you serious? Steve Blake better than Jordan Farmar? Theo Ratliff better than Josh Powell? http://www.nba.com/playerfile/jordan_farmar/ http://www.nba.com/playerfile/steve_blake/ http://www.nba.com/playerfile/josh_powell/ http://www.nba.com/playerfile/theo_ratliff/ Are you in denial?

I agree that right now Blake doesn't appear to be an upgrade over Farmar.  But Farmar was a jerk, and Blake probably will  end up as an upgrade.   Matt Barnes?   8 teams in 8 years tells me a lot about him.  Why didn't ORL even offer him a contract?  He signed for really short money.  I think THIS will be the guy with the attitude problem - just a hunch.  When Bynum gets back, whose mins will he take, Gasol's?  Yes, a few, Odom?  Not much!  Artest?  No, the one who will lose mins on that team will be Barnes, and he won't be happy about it.  Again, just a hunch!!

Just speaking of him in terms of his role off the bench, clearly. P34 suggested that Ratliff was a swap for Powell, which is radically inaccurate and misleading.

Why should any topic discussion immediate devolve into one that includes the Lakers?  Judging this Celtics team should and really can only be against the one last year or year before with the same core players.  LA is 3,000 miles away, and should be the farthest from our minds.  They'll only matter if they can get by San Antonio, and that would be in June.

Josh Powell was the 4th big man on the Lakers last year. This season Theo Ratliff is the 4th big off the bench once Bynum returns.

Mbenga was replaced by Derrick Caracter.

Josh Powell never played SF for the Lakers and Ron Artest is the one who sometimes plays PF, not Matt Barnes.

Mbenga and Ratliff both are getting 8 minutes per game, but Ratliff is only averaging 0.3 ppg while Mbenga is getting 1.0 ppg.

I never saw a lineup that had Bynum, Gasol, and Powell together or Gasol, Odom, and Powell. Saying that Powell played SF for the Lakers is totally not true. Don't try to fool me.

The Lakers let Mbenga go because he wanted more money than they were willing to offer. 0.3 ppg versus 1.0 ppg? Pretty much a wash.

Pretty well, thank you very much. We all know why the Cs (barely) lost....and it didn't have anything to do with the Lakers being better.

Puffdaddy,  put the crack pipe down.  What in the world makes you think you improved your bench?  Just because we did don't mean you did. You added Ratliff= no improvement,  you added Barnes= slight improvement,  Blake= wash at best.  No better than Farmar.   So where is all this improvement?   Wow that is impressive, you added Barnes.  He has played for everybody hasn't he?  He was so good the Magic cried for a week when he left.

I think we have a shot this year and next.  With the young payers,Baby,  Rondo, Perk, West, Nate, Luke, and Semi and the contracts that will come off in the future which will provide money for a good player or two, we can be very competative for the next five or six years.
