To the two players who did NOT want to be Celtics

To David West and O.J. Mayo who both reportedly shot down trades to Boston for Jermaine O'Neal and Ray choosing Indiana and Memphis instead.

Well the Grizz are done and Ray is hurting BAD.... The Pacers are about to be done and Jerlame has been out all year....

We coulda really used you guys.... maybe you'd have put us over the top for a championship.... words can't describe how disgusted I am at those two.

When the trade is going to happen, no one knew that Allen is injured.   If Allen was injured during the time of the trade, these teams would not want Allen.   Same goes to Jermaine.

    This is a dumb post!!!

It is just one of the year that Boston is b@nged up.  There will be next year!!!

    It's a dumb post?

The Jermaine trade was a home run the second it was announced and West had a choice at the same $ and thought Indy was a better winning situation for him. Jermaine wasn't injured at the time, but nobody wanted him over West.

The only Allen trade that made sense (when he was healthy) was for a younger, better defensive SG who could run with Rondo for years AND replace his 15 per in tis years playoffs and Mayo was just that.

    So yeah, F those two

As free-agent forward David West and the Boston Celtics work to complete a difficult sign-and-trade deal, the Indiana Pacers have positioned themselves to sign the power forward should talks with the Celtics flatline on Sunday, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The Celtics have been discussing a four-year deal with West, sources said. Still, Boston is limited under sign-and-trade rules with how high it can go with an offer. The Celtics can offer the first three years in the $24 million to $25 million range, but the fourth year would likely not be fully guaranteed.

Several sources believed there would be a resolution Sunday.

Indiana has been discussing a two-year deal with West but with a higher annual salary, sources said. The Pacers have cap space to sign West outright, while Boston, which is over the salary cap, needs the sign-and-trade scenario to acquire him. With the Chris Paul-to-the-Lakers deal falling apart again late Saturday night, the Hornets still hadn’t made any calls to pursue re-signing West, sources said.

Indiana is also negotiating with free-agent forward Carl Landry, sources said.

The Celtics have discussed sending center Jermaine O’Neal, and possibly rookies E’Twaun Moore andJaJuan Johnson, to the Hornets, sources said. For the deal to work, the Hornets need to find a landing spot for Jermaine O’Neal’s $6.2 million contract. That’s a difficult proposition for a 16-year veteran with a history of injuries, but New Orleans has seemed confident it can do so.

West has been motivated to sign with the Celtics, where he can start on the frontline alongsideKevin Garnett. West, 31, opted out of the final year of his contract with New Orleans. He is recovering from knee surgery as an ACL tear ended his 2010-11 season after 70 games. West has been one of the NBA’s most reliable low-post scorers across his eight seasons in the NBA, averaging 18.9 points and 7.6 rebounds a season ago.

I don't think NO wanted Rondo - I don't think Paul had any say in the matter.  These guys are not Free Agents, and Ainge said he was willing to rent Paul for a year anyway.

For those of us who want Mayo over Nick Young or Eric Gordon, I will BET that if you put enough green in his pocket, Green will be his new favorite color!!

How many players in recent years have WANTED to play for Boston? Not many that I have heard. The weather sucks, the city sucks. Taxes are high. etc...

Then how come everyone want to play for the Patriots/Red Sox/Bruins, and you re saying no one want to come to the Celtics?  B.S.

I just think the real reason is that these players backing away from the Celtics is the playing time and the salary.  Since the Celtics will have a huge chunk of money to spend on, we can all debate on why no one want to go to the Celtics.

Josh Smith, Howard, etc who all are soon to be a free agent have mentioned that they would love to play for the Celtics!!!

Why? I thought you agreed with F34 that we were getting as much out of Bass as we would have with West for half the money.

Naturally I still feel West would have been much better in the starter role and his playoff leadership seems to justify the difference in pay ... He'd definitely have made a difference here!

Wow Mark/Gina gives a new definition to the term 'sour grapes'

and mployee, Bass had nothing to do with it... if Jermaine was going to give us a 22 minute, 6 point, 8 rebound, 2 block season in 80% of the game and 100% of the playoff games... then I wouldn't have wasted our cap space on West

But obviously nobody assumed that was going to happen

the stupidity of jerLame o'neal was the original signing.  for two years with on year hanging over into a new CBA????  it made his number un-tradeable.  if you got a team of doctors together to convene on the topic of jerLame's knees- do you think they would reach a consensus that it's likely he would last TWO years for us?  or even ONE?  how many game sdid he play for us in 2 yrs?  30?

it's on danny.  this team should have had a better piece at the 5 and don't even bring up tire patch brian rollins and steamer, while nice for future bench play is not ready.  this is the absolute idiocy of ainge.  he did the same thing with sheed.  offer guys who are RICH beyond their wildest dreams too much time and money to come play for us.

The Lakers traded a future draft pick for Hill. It could be a 2017 draft pick.
If Boston gives Hill $8m/year then yes, LA won't afford him.
He might be the best big man Boston will sign...

LA told Sessions that they want him to opt in.
If he doesn't opt in, he could be gone.

I guess you are pumped for two new rookies who are draft picks in the 20's that will sit on Boston's bench. In a year when Boston needed big men, Doc really utilized JJJ well... UGH.....

Sessions never said he is opting out.
I don't think they are convinced he is their pg for the future.
If someone offers him $24m over 4 years, he will not be playing for LA.
LA can offer Hill approx $23m over 5 years.

This years draft is not loaded.
Name the good european players that are in the draft.
There is 1 player that will be a difference maker.
Do you think that some teams will move out and in the draft?

LA has an $8.9m trade exception that can be used by December.
