I can't believe that any realy Celtic fans want this team to be happy to lose. You dopes have seen the lottery screw us time after time. I would much rather have a GM that can build a team with brains and heart slowly. Greg Oden should be all that is needed to shut up the "TANK and WiN" crowed. This team now is fun to watch and I would not trade that for 1 and 2 in the draft.

You never expect the players to be happy to lose. It's about assembling a young roster that will lose based on inexperience. The Spurs weren't happy losing the year before they got Tim Duncan. Our players weren't happy losing the year before we got Ray Allen (via the Jeff Green lottery pick). But we got a championship out of that trip to the lottery (and almost another).

That's the beauty of the lottery and the reason you don't get this: even a #5 pick can be a huge advantage.

Having said that, we are playing so well and the rest of the division is so poor, I'm currently ok with playing for the playoffs and getting a #4 seed.

The Celtics didn't tank in 2006-7 and that pick did not equal a championship.

I was on board pre-Cousy, and have never heard crap like "tank". Not once! These people know about as much about basketball as I do about rugby. Go Celts! Go Tommy! One game at a time. This time has some shooters! Go for it!

So am I. So much babbling about lottery position and who's who to get in the draft. Those are conversations to be talking about in June it's Dec.. Win as many games as possible and let the chips fall were they fall. Be thankfull now we got a great coach and a bunch of players all on the same page for once. It's still early in the season, so let's enjoy the ride this year you never know. It's a 82 game season.

    That's you in denial.

If you know how to use Google then you would know that it's a fact the Celts tanked in 2006-07.

And that #5 pick didn't equal a championship?

    Stupid!

Without that #5 pick, there would be no Ray Allen.

KG declined to come to Boston before Ray became a Celtic.

The Celtics didn't tank in 2006-7, only a  pink hat would say that.  #5 pick did not equal a championship, stupid.

And Tommy says tankers like you are "idiots."

    Stop being an idiot!

    Here:

    http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/40780/when-tankers-tell-the-truth

In one notorious game late in the season, the Celtics, playing at home, led the woeful Bobcats 69-51 late in the third quarter -- and managed to lose the game by eight points, enhancing their draft positioning. Of course, Celtics coach Doc Rivers denied tanking charges. As Steve Bulpett reported in the Boston Herald: “Rivers insisted there was nothing sinister about leaving Paul Pierce (game-high 23 points) on the bench for the fourth quarter and letting the quintet of Sebastian Telfair, Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Allan Ray and Leon Powe stay on the parquet as the lead -- still at 10 with nine minutes left in the game -- disappeared.”

Ryan Gomes had 13 through three quarters, but watched from the bench in the fourth as Boston clinched the worst record in the Eastern Conference and second worst in the league.

"I probably (would have played), but since we were in the hunt for a high draft pick, of course things are different," Gomes said. "I understand that. Hopefully things get better. Now that we clinched at least having the second-most balls in the lottery, the last three games we'll see what happens. We'll see if we can go out and finish some games."

Unimpressive,  just some hack trying to get published.  Leave it to a pink hat to embrace a hack insulting the Celtics.

Why does your source say Ryan Gomes was among the quintet playing in the fourth and then in the next paragraph say he sat out the fourth.  Somebody is splicing unimpressive hack articles insulting the Celtics.  Guess what,  some people need to get published.

That's because you were too lazy to read the whole article.

    Here:

In the final week of the season, the Celtics and Bucks, both maneuvering for the best possible draft position, played each other and gave DNPs to high scorers Paul Pierce, Al Jefferson, Wally Szczerbiak, Michael Redd and Mo Williams.

After the game, the Associated Press reported

Ryan Gomes had 13 through three quarters, but watched from the bench in the fourth as Boston clinched the worst record in the Eastern Conference and second worst in the league.

"I probably (would have played), but since we were in the hunt for a high draft pick, of course things are different," Gomes said. "I understand that. Hopefully things get better.       Now you're going to resplice your post.   The Bucks finished 4 games ahead of the Celtics.  Who does the still young Ryan Gomes play for, pink hat who wasn't here?
