But but but but Danny was going to do the tanking for the Celtics and getting 1st round picks for Hump and Bass. According to Fungy.

    This is epic:

    In response to Petey62's comment:

I'm hearing a rumor of Bayless to Detroit for Wil Bynum.

If this is the trade deadline deal by DA, I'd consider the Celtics as having done nothing.

I'm really beginning to believe we will not make a deal by Thursday at 3 pm EST.

It doesn't seem like DA really wants to.

I'm not disappointed if that is the case.

No way Ainge doesn't make a move.

Worst case scenario is Ainge only makes 1 trade.

    Nice job by Bird.

Also nice job by the Sixers. They just pretty much gauranteed themselves a top three pick.

Don't mind the trade for Philly either. They get worse and get MORE cap space. They're going to have an absurd amount of it. They only have Young, J Rich, Nerlens, MCW, Wroten, Moultrie, and Elliot Williams on the books next year.

It's an awesome trade for Philly. It is exactly the type of thing that I was hoping Ainge would do.

The Celtics are going to be picking 8th or 9th.

Agreed, great move by bird and the pacers, but if im not mistaken wasnt philly under the salary floor ( the minimum the league requires teams to spend on salary) so they had to add salary before the trade deadline, in either case a good job by bird to take advantage. Im glad indiana is bringing in reinforcments (bynum and now turner and lavoy allen) loading up to beat the heat. Id be surprised if they dont do it this year, especially if they get homecourt.

I don't know about Philly, I think they are planning on firesale and tanking every year for the next decade.  Where will their top 3 pick player go a couple of years from now?  Meanwhile, Nerlens and Young are next next year.

Why ... Philly was under the team salary minimum facing a $5MM fine. They will let his contract expire or do a S&T this summer if not on draft night. What do the Heat have now other than late 1st round if they have any left?

    [/QUOTE]

Philly will buy out Granger's contract, making him a UFA, free to sign with any team.  MIA has a roster spot open, after the Roger Mason "thing".  So, Granger will go to the Heat after he's bought out.

Sign and trades are not as viable an option under the new CBA........Granger will have to take a lot less money next year to stay in the league
