How about trading Rhondo, Garnet, and Krstic for Dwight Howard and Gibert Arenas? The salaries balance out to about 33 million on both sides. I am not high on getting Arenas but the Magic won’t give up Howard unless they can unload the high salary of Arenas. Red Auerbach once said the winner of any trade is the team that gets the single best player in the trade. In this case that would be Dwight Howard coming to the Celtics who would require him to sign for a long term deal before completing the trade. I don’t like giving up Rondo, but it will be easier to get a new solid point guard than to get a superstar center, in the mold of a Bill Russell, who can be the centerpiece of the team now and in the future. If Boston wants to get by Miami in the playoffs in the future, it will need a dominate defensive and offensive center. Howard, Pierce and Allen would make a formidable big three.

The Magic have Nelson under contract until the end of the 2013 season. No way they're taking Rondo. -
