Not a fan of tying up cap space in somone who will never be healthy enough to play a full season. But if we do this along with trading KG, rest rondo and draft some european player we wont see for a few years like Giannis Adetokunbo or Dennis Schroeder..the highlight of our season will be counting ping pong balls (at least id be willing to give up a season for a realistic shot at Wiggins)

    KG - LAC

    Rondo - ATL

BOS - Bledsoe, Gordon, Horford and Jordan..........

    thoughts??

do we really want to go back to the days of the 1996-1997 celtics when they were 15-67? this is what it's going to look like. regardless of the talent this team is going nowhere. the lottery is a crap shoot anyways. being the worst team in the league doesn't guarantee the first pick. rebuild, definitely but not mortgaing a year to do it.

If we are trading Rondo I'd want a lottery picK and someone on a bargin or rookie contract like Demarcus Cousins. However, we wont get value for Rondo until hes 100%.

Maybe you havent looked at the roster but in 2 years were a lottery team..why not tank and play ping pong balls? No way we get the short end of the stick again in the lottery..

I had mentioned this trade a while back.  There is no reason for the Celts to do this unless the NO 1st. rounder is also involved.

Ha, ha, ha!!  The NBA of Stern luvs sticking it to the Boston Celtics and handing it to the LA Lakers.

Len Bias(86)  *no supplemental pick the following year.

Tim Duncan draft(97?) *Ron Mercer consolation prize.

Kevin Durant/Oden(07) *Trade to Seattle for RayRay

We will never see a #1 again til King Stern is dirt-napping.

A starting lineup of Bledsoe, Gordon, Green, Horford and Jordan is a pretty solid young team. Gobs of talent and an average age of 24 1/2. 3 of them are top 10 picks. They're owed 46.1 mil combined now, as opposed to the 48 due to Rondo, Bradley, KG, PP and Green. With, hopefully, Bass' 6 off the books, there's only Lee and Terry for over 2 mil.

I don't like making Eric Gordon the face of the Boston Celtics.

Eric Gordon is just as small as AB and he's not worth 15m per season.

I agree on all counts, but if we were to make that trade, i would probably draft Michael Carter Williams to play the point and trade Rondo!!  If Williams is still there of course.

Isn't MCW a taller version of Rondo?

I have not seen any of MCW's games, but the scouting report says he routinely passes up open shots and that he's not a good shooter.

This kid is light years away from Rondo. Stay away.

I would be happy if he was a taller version of Rondo. I just don't want both guards to be barely 6'1",  Gordon would be the shooter and Williams would distribute and be able to take it to the rim and be able to guard the bigger guards.  I would only draft Williams if we were making this trade. There are other players i like better!!

OP: That's a crummy trade and I don't think Ainge would do it. He's smug but he's not a dufus.

For Pierce and Bradley Ainge will want something pretty special.
