Pulled what trigger on what?

You have no idea what was out there for trades.  All i heard was the Mayo trade which Memphis pulled out of.  Not Danny.

We would be in better shape than what we are now. Danny rates in the lower class of NBA general managers. Too bad McHale cannot gift Danny any more players.

    Go Celtics!

MEM may have overtaken the lakers if they had Ray.  As it is, they got a very bad seed.  They have the Clips, THEN SA!!  Out in the second round!

    Posted by snakeoil123
Under the circumstances, a top 15 draft pick would have been nice.  We have seen the last of Ray Allen. Bone spurs are not a good thing !!!

    Posted by Bill-806
We will never know if the were was a deal for Danny to pull the trigger on now.

But the bone spurs aren't a new problem for Ray Allen. He was coming off of surgery for bone spurs when the C's got him for Seattle.

I do think the C's felt the chances were less than 50% he'd be back after this year at the deadline before the injury so I don't think their thinking was influnced by a desire to resign him.

Had those two trades been a reality I would have been very happy. But as it is now, Ray will still be able to do what he does best, and that is straight up shoot. And with the way Bradley has been playing, that should be all he needs to do. Come in, take a couple of beautiful Ray Allen shots, and go back to the bench to motivate and teach the youngins on the squad. It's obviously a reduced role compared to what he's used to, but it's a very important one nonetheless. It's like Aceves' middle relief role...it isn't glamerous, but it wins games. Ray will need to be this year's Eddie House. Just knock down a couple of big ones at the key points in the game.

" Under the circumstances, a top 15 draft pick would have been nice."

Yeah and if he had followed your "blow up the team" playbook we'd have a crummy team right now.

Here's a newsflash: you don't manage a team with the benefit of hindsight.

Why cry over spilt milk? You certainly can't get away with that attitude in the military, or you get creamed in the next skirmish.
