Untouchables

    Sully

    KO

    Bradley

Those 3. Resign Bradley. Everyone else...IMO..trading block material.

Hats off to Bass, Payless Shoes, Humpty and CJ. Gave it up big for the Green. Can't get emotional though.

Olynyk is the only player on the team that I would be sad to see go. Which is sad in and of itself.  I was mega-pissed when we drafted him, hated the guy before the draft, which says a lot about KO.

But yeah, nobody on this team is, nor should be "untouchable".

None of those three are "untouchable" least of all Bradley given a trade that nets Danny an allstar or as a piece involved to get a superstar.
I dunno. Bradley's injuries can be a worry but he comes back everytime. He's all up-side and still so young.

And yeah, technically nobody's "untouchable" but there has to be a core.

    nobody is untouchable, that's silly.

Nobody wants to admit that Rondo is likely the most "untouchbale" because nobody is going to give Danny equal value or overpay and that's what he's looking for from our most valuable asset.

Therefore, we are building around Rondo while he's in his prime (next 5 years), probably by trading away Sully, KO or both to bring in a second allstar and then using our 5th or 6th pick in the draft for the third.

Bradley to me is a Bruce Bowen type of player that you add to a core after you've built it, not a cornerstone of one.  His injuries are a worry, but more worrisome is that he is a 6'2" shooting guard who can't dribble, pass, or finish at the rim unless he has someone setting him up for uncontested layups.

Yeah, if we luck out with a top 3 pick it might be worth it to kick the tires on Rondo for the Lakers top 6-9 pick.  See if Smart is available and start from the ground up with one of Wiggins/Embiid/Parker, Smart, Sully, and KO.  Uber young but with time that could be a dangerous team.  Exum or Randle centered package may be able to get you KLove to pair with RR but after the top 5 the drop off is big.

I completely agree with this. If the C's trade for an existing Star, such as K. Love {or someone else} then maybe they keep Rondo but if Danny is really going to build through the draft, the C's are not going to be relevent for 2-4 years. By then Rondo will be over 30 and I do not think he is the kind of guy {IMO, he is no Captain} you want to bring a bunch of young kids along. After the game tonight, even Tommy said he was pounding the ball and Stevens might need to pull his azz out and bench him. That would lead to the BAD Rondo coming out and that could sour Stevens and leave us with an aging, overpaid PG with no jump shot and a bad attitude.

there isn't a player on this roster who is untouchable. not a single one. there's a few solid young players with potential, but nothing untouchable. there's only a handful of untouchable players in the entire NBA never mind the lowly C's. Lebron, KD, CP3, Curry, George. That's about it.
Have to agree 9-11. If I had to pick one guy on this team that is untouchable, I would have to say Brad Stevens.

Olynyk has potential, but I wouldn't call him untouchable.

I'm still trying to figure out why Danny didn't trade Bradley mid season.

Sullinger could be a nice addition to a contending team, but he's no cornerstone. He's more valuable to the Cs as a trade chip.

If you're looking for an untouchable, well, that's the point of tanking, isn't it?

Rondo is the one untouchable, from an opponents GM point of view.

Some here believe we wont get equal value for Rondo in return.. Analyze that for a second. If we cant get equal value in the last several years then doesnt that suggest the Celtics or some of its fans have been greatly overvaluing Rondo in the first place?

Isnt that why Brandon Knight was the best thing we got offered...and that was several years ago and Rondos value has diminished even further since ..

GMs wont give up an all star for a fugazy all star like Rondo that also brings along so much baggage and is a destructor of team chemistry.

So yes, Rondo may be the one untouchable on the Celtics mainly because nobody else wants him in return for what some of the Celtic fans fantasize is equal value

Someone could probably ask you what you had for breakfast you and would wind up telling him how angry you were about Rondo while you spit all over yourself.

The post is about which players one thinks should not be traded from the Celtics.

Try and think about that for 60 whole seconds before your mind becomes overcome with thoughts about Rondo.

It will feel good. I promise.

If Rondo were a piece of real estate, the owner would be considered under water... owing more on the property than it is worth.

Owner would love to sell but can't afford to.

That being the case, you are suggesting that the owner is now prepared to invest heavily in the property and build around it... to go even further under water, making this asset the centerpiece of his real estate portfolio.

    Nice view. Nice neighborhood!

    Just think of the possibilities!

    Looks like Detroit.

C's just moved into a tie with the Orlando Magic for 3rd spot in the ping pong pull.  Hopefully we do better than 5th or 6th position in the draft.  I'm counting on one of Embiid, Parker or Wiggins.

The 2nd pick(Brooklyn's) is looking like #18-#21...  Maybe CleAnthony Early or Shabazz Napier.  (Stauskas, McDermott, Ennis, Vonleh et al will be gone.)
