I have noticed that several other teams are taking over complete control of their minor league affiliate.
I think that it is clearly in the best interest of the Celtics to do the same for all the same reasons that MLB teams have their own minor league systems.
The exact same terminology, strategy, styles of offense and defense could be used just like MLB teams use the same terminology, etc.
The Red Claws could be bused down to Boston when their schedule allows for practices during the season which would help the Celtics with numbers of available players at practice and would help the Red Claw players in that they would get exposed to NBA players, coaches and practice situations.
I would think that getting rid of some players sponsored by the other teams would be only a small financial issue that would be completely overshadowed by the benefits of having your own minor league team.
