    Wanna Hear a Joke?

    These power rankings.

The Lakers are ranked 8th in the recent rankings.

These guys are 9th in their own conference for pete sake!!!!

Seems like every time they beat a Raptors or Suns team they jump 5 spots.

Total media driven BS if you ask me.

Not that it's the best barometer either, but I like John Hollinger's power rankings because he takes a little more into account with his.

    http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/powerrankings

The Lakers are 12th in his power ranking which is still a farce when they aren't even a playoff team today.

The Celtics are ranked below them and I guarantee the Celtics have beat more of the top teams than the Lakers have.

    Re: Wanna Hear a Joke?

Heck lets get a little more laughter this morning.

Apparently, the Kobe-Bryant-led “Could the 2012 version of Team USA beat the Dream Team?” debate is the new “Could [dominant college team] beat [terrible pro team]?” A fair number of people don’t even seem to think it’s worth debating: and wouldn’t you know it, there is a remarkably high concentration of those people on… the Dream Team. Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley responded to the comparison of the two squads by laughing, and from the looks of things, Larry Bird did pretty much the same:

Larry Bird on whether current Olympic team could beat Dream Team: "They probably could. I haven't played in 20 years and we're all old now."

There’s a line – the exact nature of it varies, but it’s always attributed to Ty Cobb – involving Cobb being asked, long after his retirement what he’d hit if he played the game “today.” He said he’d hit about .300, and the person who asked was surprised he guessed an average that low. Cobb’s response: “You’ve got to remember – I’m 73.” Clearly, that caustic streak is alive and well in sports’ living legends of today. (Of course, Jordan might be mad Bird even conceded that.)

I don't even bother to read them anymore.  I believe that the rankings change depending on how you are playing currently despite your current standings in your division.  Since the Lakers have been winning that is why they are rated higher than they should be.  These rankings are also just someones opinion and show favoritism to certain teams.

Didn't you know that all media hates the Celtics?
Along with David Stern, referees, NBA analysts, pretty much everyone outside of New England.

(Or that is what Celtics fans believe).

    Babies.

    Huh.

I don't believe any of that and I am a Celtic fan.

There are some odd people on here this morning.

Susan, you are an absolute genius. Thanks for pointing out the ever so obvious.

    Stay blessed!

Yes thanks Susan for pointing out the Fakers are rated higher than they should be.

Who would the Fakers be playing if the playoffs started today Bloopypoop?

Larry Bird never scored 81 and he also played no defense.
Still, he was a very good player.

Comparing Bird and Kobe is bizarre.

Funny the Fakers win a couple of games against bottom dwellers,  finally beat a halfway decent team and the trolls start coming out of the woodwork.

Yes, one is a top 5 all-time player - best ever at his position (for now, I think LeBron will catch him), and the other is kobe Bryant!
