    Drafting Bill Russell?

Making a trade that got us Robert Parrish and Kevin McHale?

Greatest Day in Celtic Fans History?

    July 5, 2013?

When Dwight Howard signed with the Rockets debunking the myth that every great big man in  NBA ends up becoming a Laker.

    HAHAHA

But Howard is not a great big man

How about one of the worst and one of the best moments in Celtics history - all in the same season:

After their worst record in recent memory, they get bamboozled from the Kevin Durant lottery ticket. Eight months later, they're the world champs.

Would we have taken Durant? Or would we have made the oden mistake too?

Would love an honest response from all the GMS on this one. Reckon the Oden would have almost been the unanimous choice as the first player they'd choose.

Oden is by far one of the more sad stories in recent NBA history. Just feel sorry for the guy in the sense his career has really come to nothing so far. And could well remain that way.

Thunder were just lucky they had the second pick.

Greatest day in Celtic history? Would have to be obtaining the rights for Bill Russell wouldn't it?

Otherwise the Hawks may well be still in ST Louis with about 8 banners (or more) above their court.

No Russell. No Celtic Pride, No Celtic mystic. Seriously, this guy is the mansion and the rest of the players are merely addtional rooms. And they're not very big rooms either. For they wouldn't even be there if not for the mansion.

Russell = Most Valuable Player EVER.

I dont know about greatest day but the most important day in Celtics history was getting Russ.. no question there..

As far as greatest day.... several title games come to mind

like game 7 in Russells final year vs the Lakers...

Larry twirling the towel at 100 degree Boston Garden as the C's were winning the title on home court...

Id even put up the 2008 game 6 taking down the Lakers for the championship was so sweet..

what also sticks out as a great Celtic day in my mind was watching an unbelievable fast break the Cowens/Hondo led Celts ran on Alcindors Bucks on a Sunday afternoon game, never seen such precision as the Celtics tore the Bucks apart..

The greatest day was April 30, 1956.  Bill Russell, Tommy Heinsohn, KC Jones all drafted/acquired the same day.

My greatest day as a fan in Celtics history was June 17, 2008.  I was at Game 6 of the NBA Finals and watched the Celtics annihilate the Lakers by 39 points and win their 17th NBA title.

Bigpapa1977, hands down greatest day.  Greatest single move however was Russell.  #2 is Bird.  #3 is at the next level down from those two.
