I believe Rondo will adjust even if it means he won't be the NBA leader in assists. I think he still will be though. He will delegate the ball handling and playmaking at times. But the best playmaker is Rondo so at critical junctures he will have the ball, as he should.
Rondo is a better franchise player than Dwight Howard because Rondo makes others much better whether he has the ball or not. Plus he plays much harder and gets better production as a result.
There are more playmakers in the NBA than beasts in the paint, so a beast in the paint is overpaid in todays NBA because of high demand and low supply!
So Rondo is the better player but because he is easier to replace, he's not as VALUABLE as a Dwight Howard.
