We have lost a step to the competition

Last week I envisioned the Celtics playing better and better and the Knick and Nets coming back to earth a little. I think we can see now the team has a personnel problem.  Bradley is not coming back soon, Lee is not very good, Green is not very good or acclimated yet, Sullinger is going to need time, Pierce is an older twenty five minute player, and Garnett needs help in the big department.

So we are a seven or eight seed at best right now. It changed last year in the second half and hopefully it will this year but we are going to lose quite a few games in comparison to other years.

Terry needs 5 to 7 seven more shots a night and ball hog Paul needs to look for open guys.  Danny did not do  that great a job  this off-season.  He needs to keep working the phones or this season we will be looking up at the Net, Knicks, and 76'ers.

Andre Blatche head case had 17 points and thirtee rebounds.  Could have had him for next to nothing and got KG to work with him. The guy has talent.  We have no one who can play like that.

Nets are a scary big team - Blatch, Lopez...now that's a  big, strong, young, athletic front court. Great job by the Nets management putting togehter a big, tough team with youth and veterans.
We could heve gotten guys like Blatche and Evans, for a little of nothing!!  Think they would have helped us in the Rebound department? They would have been a perfect fit for the Celtics!!

Lets see if the team can move beyond the distraction caused by R9R's streak which finally and blessedly came to an end tonight.

More importantly, lets see if R9R can refocus his game more broadly to what the team needs to win against improved competition in the East.

By mid-season we'll know if DA's off season moves paid off.

    Its still early...

I agree. Blatche would have been great in green.

From 1 to 5 the Nets have the advantage man for man.

    Lopez vs. KG

    Humphries vs. Bass

    Wallace vs. Pierce

    Johnson vs. Terry

    Deron vs. Rondo

The Celts defense keeps breaking down because they need to double team a lot because of the size difference.
If the match-ups change to:

    Rondo vs. Williams

    Bradley vs. Johnson

    Green vs. Wallace

    KG vs. Humphries

    Gortat vs. Lopez

With LB, JT, PP, JS, and CW as the second unit, the C's have the advantage at 4, 5, and with the 2nd unit! RR vs. Williams is a draw!

Good point Evans would have been a no-brainer as well.

    Pierce not a starter?

I'll believe it when I see it.
I know it is not likely to happen! But starting JG might get him going! Bringing PP off of the bench would likely benefit the 2nd unit (scoring punch)!

    Ubuntu!!

The nets are better and would beat the celtics in 5 or 6 games in a series. The division is better and it wouldn't be a surprise to see the c's finish 4th.

Unless we hit three's like we did against the Thunder, i don't see how we can beat the Nets!! They are just to big and physical for us to handle!!
