We need more balance on our roster next season.

Last year we started off with too many duplicate skillsets and Danny moved a lot of them.

Crawford, Lee and Bradley. Bradley was the best. Bradley stays.

We have Bass and Hump who have a similar skillset. One has to go in favor of a better shot blocker or low post scorer imo.(Embiid? Vonleh? Colton Iverson?)

Johnson and Babb are similar skillsets. Neither has proven to be a reliable deep threat. One has to go in favor of a more reliable deep threat G/F. (McDermott? P.J. Tucker?)

Sully and Kells have a similar skillset. Ideally we move Sully for a 7 foot energy guy. High flyer with length.(Sully for Valanciunas?)

We need more skill balance and athleticism and power.

Like Hump.  Hard to get excited about Iverson, playing backup like sixteen minutes a game with 4 or 5 points and rebounds.  All that and 24 years old.  We already have Fav to waste in that spot.

I agree. I am a big Brandon Bass fan, But Hump guards the low post better and looks better at center than Bass does. Our draft picks are likely to replace one of them. Then there is Vitor who can be or Valanciunas if he improves.

Re: We need more balance on our roster next season.

    Next seasons depth chart?

    C- Hump-Faverani-Iverson

    Pf- Sully- Olynyk- Vonleh

    Sf- Green- PJ Tucker- Wallace

    Sg- Bradley- Napier- Johnson

    Pg- Rondo- Pressey

We could go small or big with a team like that.

Need to shut down a tall 2? We turn to Tucker and Johnson.

Need to battle Dwight Howard? We turn to Hump and Iverson.

Need a 3 at the end of the game? I give you Wallace (inbounder)

    Olynyk-Green-Bradley and Napier.

Come on, we're just two super stars away from being a great team.

Haha, well said. Just like any team in the league. Just a Hakeem and Drexler away from a contender.

Too much talent from  that power forward slot, not enough minutes for everyone.

A lot of talent forcing players to work to seperate themselves for more minutes. Leaves some room for injury without losing quality. Plus those power forwards play center also.

If Celts are to become contenders again, they're going to need a real Center.

    [/QUOTE]

The Celtics have an above average 1 and 4 and are below average at the 2, 3, and 5. Oh and they have no bench. The Celtics need a center but they also need everything else too.

any of these guys could play for a championship team' but you won,t with Bradley, Green and no center.  Unless  Vonleh is still growing we would need a real center from somewhere.

Faverani ?  Above what average.  He didn't play on a terrible team.  Bradley, Bass, Pressey?  Did I miss something?  Who do we play next in the playoffs?

Really.  He shot 30 percent from the floor 64 percent from the line, and 26 percent from 3.

Per 36 minutes he averaged 6 points and 7 assists a game.

Which starting point guards do you think he is better than? In fact, which back up point guards do you think he is better than?

Re: We need more balance on our roster next season.

37 has this one right all the way. And BTW, Faux Hawk sucks, he just plain sucks. His knee didn't prevent him from playing well last season, his lack of any kind of pro game did. Trust me when I say the C's are sweating out his knee operation and hope to the good lord he can actually play even 12 meaningful minutes a game or he'll be gone. Right now his nothingness is off the NBA nothingness chart. AT LEAST iVERSON CAN REBOUND AND KNOCK GUYS INTO OBLIVION, SOMETHING THE MUCH TOUTED "mR. iNDESTRUCTABLE" COULD NOT DO! (OPPS,  caps). (And please don't bring up the first game. Momentary good play means nothing when you can't stay on the floor and contribute on a game to game basis and Faux Hawk cannot do that , not yet at least.) Neither is a quality 5 , but aside from the 4 position and the 1 we lack any talent at all.

This team is three good drafts and several moves away from serious NBA contention. Any thought otherwise falls into a child's heady realm of magical thinking.

I'm not saying Faverani is the answer at center but I don't think he's as bad as you say either. He get's 2 mil a year and is 25, if he shows no improvement over the offseason , we can use him to fill in the numbers in a deal that is a off a few $$. He showed a lot of  inexperience but he showed some nice play too.  I think he has enough skills that if he works on the offseason he might be a decent player and is a low risk high reward guy.

Let's find that(those) team(s) that covet Pressey as a starter and work a trade for an effective center. Right.... no one out there covets Pressey.

This first round of the playoffs has really been an eye opener for how truly far away the Celtics are from being a decent team, let alone a "contender".  Memphis, Toronto, Golden State, and Houston are all 2-3 years ahead of the Celtics in the building process, are fairly young teams and all have at least 2 players who are as good or better than our best player, yet they were all first round exits.

I say this team has at least 2 more trips to the lottery and a complete roster overhaul before they are even considered favorites to get into a second round.

Fav Pressey, Bradley, Greenand any of the power forwards, If we had those guys last year we would have been #1
