A lot of things would have to happen right, but it's possible.

With DA's history of draft selections, this is the beginning of a long period of being useless.

I`m hoping for a Jeremy Lamb or Brad Bael selection next year in the draft.  Would love to pursue Kevin Love but its not realistic and he`ll probably stay at Minn especially since hes taking a liking to Rubio. We need long athletic players not pick and pop shooters,

[QUOTE]This years draft is the deepest in years, and we have two number one picks. Plus, at the end of the season we will have enough cap room to sign two max contract free agents. We picked a good year to be bad.

Yes, this could very well be a blessing in disguise. Danny is going to need to hit the bulls eye on both the picks. I say he draft athletic players.

Re: We picked a good year to be bad

There is some serious potential for a quick rebuild here. If you completely cut ties with the big 3, which danny has said he would do (yes it's a cold heartless business decision) You can throw top money at dwight and a SG like Gordon. He's restricted, but a big enough offer could trump what NO is willing to pay...especially if they're in the same ownership boat they're in now. Those two, Rondo, Bass and say Pietrus are your 5. Bench would have Moore, Steamer, JJ Bradley and three Rookies. Go for a SF with the top #1 pick (probably the C's own) to compete for the starting spot. Go with size (C/PF) with the next, and use the 2nd rounder on the best possible player. That's a very good young team to move into the future with. You obviously would hope Allen, KG and Pierce would retire at this point so you don't feel as bad. Pierce obviously as a Celtic. maybe KG goes back to Minny on a minimum salary for a season to retire a Timberwolf. And Allen (the one with the most to offer) would still be killer off a bench somewhere...maybe in green still at the minimum.

In Response to Re: We picked a good year to be bad:
[QUOTE]In Response to We picked a good year to be bad : If Pierce doesn't get in playing shape soon and should it appear that he won't regain his former abilities the C's should consider amnestying him for those two remaining years. He can retire to Europe and play ball there as he said he'd like to do and we can make an outrageous offer for Gerald Wallace that Portland won't match. Then with the rest of the cap space pursue Love and a legitimate guard to play alongside Rondo like Crawford or Barbosa. Dragic would be a cheap backup at PG and Koufos along with Stiemsma will provide length and strength behind Love. Resign Allen, Pietrus and Green and use the MLE for another PF along with Bass and JJJ.

Paul Pierce is a true Celtic, why would you want to amnesty him? What kind of Celtic fan are you? You must be a closet Laker fan. You're a traitor!

If you don't do right by Pierce, your franchise will be cursed just like the Bulls and Knicks.

How long did it take them to recover from disrespecting Jordan and Ewing at the end of their careers?

Not quite as long as keeping 2/3rds of the big three and disrespecting the most viable of them (Chieftan). Keep enjoying the ESPN classic channel...

Outrageous offer to Wallace? Hope your kidding. Moves like that will give us another 20 years of losing.

At least we only suffer through 66 games versus 82.

Come on, you're that superstitious? If Pierce sucks for some reason and you can improve your team, off he goes imo. Its not like him playing for the C's is some act of charity on his part. Its business. Team comes first.

I like your optimism.  If we continue to struggle, we could miss the playoffs and could indeed end up with some good draft picks.  Not sure that I trust Danny's drafting abilities though.  We will definitely have cap space next season.
